I find dieting really easy.
I’m getting great pleasure out of watching Blade Runner 2049 bomb at the box office. I know most film snobs believe the contrary, but I do not believe the general audience is stupid. The audience only laps up mindless entertainment because they want to be entertained. They also know when they’re being fooled by bombastic, pretentious nonsense. A big budget movie like Dunkirk that took an enormous risk still made back 5 times it’s budget.
Anytime a topic has an exclamation mark in the title or “I apologize for my english” in the main post, I don’t respond to it.
Exactly! This is the reason I love movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, the Fast and the Furious series, and a bunch of other sci-fi type flicks. I want to be amused. I know the plots are dumb at times but the movies are flashy and I enjoy being stupid for awhile. If I wanted to be intellectually stimulated then I’d read a book.
The original was a classic! top 10 sci fi movie on my personal list, know it by heart!
Favorite scene…
All those moments lost…like tears in the rain
Blade Runner was a great film. It worked on so many levels. Even if you didn’t care for the existential stuff, the story telling and characters were enough to engage you. The sequel sucks.
It’s getting great reviews, by most accounts it’s a good movie
However, at 3 hours long and probably being a “thinker” it’s tough for me to just go on a whim or plan for a baby sitter and go out for 4 hours (making the movie experience cost $100 when it’s all said and done). There’s definitely something to be said for being in the mood for that kind of movie, and I don’t know if my mood and schedule will line up while it’s in theaters
The thing is there is really nothing profound nor complex about this movie. What was infuriating was the film makers apparantly thought there was and chose to reveal a basic paper thin plot sloooowly over a span of 3 hours.
I saw it, and thought it was excellent. A touch overlong–could have used one more pass under the editor’s knife. Other than that, five thumbs up from me.
I just have a fundamental problem with releasing a sequel to a 5-star movie 400 years after the original. Kinda pisses me off.
I felt the same way when they followed up the incomparable Breakin’ with the derivative Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo.
well you couldn’t really ever expect them to top a masterpiece like Breakin’
It has a LOT of haters too. But then you look at the amount of good films that were influenced by it, even HK flicks and Japanese anime, and there’s no way you can deny the films’s importance even if you hate it. This won’t be happening with the sequel.
The original satisfies my most basic of movie criteria. Does it have Rutger Hauer? If yes - I like it.
Blind Fury was kickass.
^Have you watched this? I don’t want to waste my time if it isn’t even a good bad movie.
I have always been able to eat a lot in one sitting but, eating in a surplus for months is a fucking chore. Even when eating “dirty” that shit just gets boring.
Cutting is a lot easier when you do not try to have all the junk you can. I find it easier especially mentally to just make a meal plan and eat the same shit day in day out.
I mean… You get to watch Ryan Gosling walking slowly with contrasting lighting… That counts as something right?
Hell yeah, I even got to experience the amazing dialogue spoken in monotone:
Mariette: What’s that?
K: A tree.
Mariette: I’ve never seen a tree. It’s pretty.
K: It’s dead.
Mariette: Now, who keeps a dead tree?
I’m sure they could have inserted the line “I don’t like sand” in there somewhere.
(Warning: possible hints that qualify as spoilers.)
I liked it. Loved the bad ass Replicant Killer Bitch. Thought Gosling was pretty good. I liked Robin Wright more than I liked Harrison Ford. Thought the concept of Golsing’s “girlfriend” was pretty, pretty cool.
But then, I like U2 pre-atomic bomb, and think One is one of the greatest songs ever. So, my opinion does not count…
I do think that if you have not seen the first one, you’d probably scratch your head at the sequel. Also agree that 2:43 running time was a little long.

Just watched true memoirs of an international assassin . 6/10 for the plot 10/10 for the hot chick
