I told a pregnant chick tonight that I’d punch her in the baby
Bring it on!
Guess who debuted this article today:
“The 4 Mandatory One-Legged Exercises”
The names of the exercises make me want to punch myself in the nuts. T Nation, put this guy on a snap count pronto.
He is getting a bit much…
Ever notice how most writers who say x, y or z exercises are mandatory or essential or any other absolute terms don’t seem to have achieved much in terms of strength or physique?
Yes, it’s a form of click bait or desperation.
Get out of my way, while you squat I’m…
Single-Arm Single-Leg Romanian Deadlift with Iso-Hold
I didn’t make that shit up! It’s exercise #4!!!
Why, was the baby being cheeky?
I mean, I think single leg work is great as assistance. It’s helped me heaps in leg size. Is it mandatory? No. Is it advisable? Yes. Does it suck? Absolutely. There’s a big difference between advisory and mandatory though. Probably the same as single arm work, which I’ve slacked off on in pressing.
I don’t like his article titles but a lot of his stuff, probably all, is assistance and injury prevention. Which doesn’t fit people’s ideas of the content they want to read on here. That’s atleast what I get from his article. Probably use one of those exercises during my warm up. There’s value there in his article just with a limited scope.
I don’t think a guy with your strength levels should be judging anyones content just yet
You don’t know me or my past, so keep the flame out of the flame free thread.
Thanks.
Are you at a strength level to call people out for calling out article content?
Am I strong enough to call out someone calling out another person for calling out article content?
If anyone replies, they better be frickin’ monsterous to be calling out someone calling out another someone for calling out another person for their calling out of article content.
May have worded it to sound like a dick but my point was people who are still beginners or not the highest total shouldn’t discredit any author with a good reputation just yet just because it doesn’t fit there ideas. I mean CT has stated he loves reading his stuff and he is probably the highest rated coach on here.
Everyone seems to hate him more for the name of his articles than the actual content. but his articles are very thorough and there for injury prevention. If you know the purpose of his articles there useful. I’ve been reading a lot more of his stuff since I’ve hurt my shoulder and have found his articles more and more useful. But it’s not the hardcore mold that typical tnation readers want to read.
I would not call myself strong but my maxes in the gym not in a comp
Stats 180lbs
Bench 355 really wanted twice body weight but hurt the shoulder so building back up
Squat 455
Press 255
I am fairly certain the authors don’t chose the titles of the articles guys.
My post was in jest. It’s flame free, remember?
Um, if your press is strict (And real) I’m pretty jealous.
I feel like Dr. Rusin’s stuff has merit but the titles are off putting. You MUST do this…and this and this and this. You SHOULD do this. If I listened then I’d be majoring in foam rolling, mobility, and isolating unilateral movements with no time for any compound movements.
It also seems like a lot of the “new” articles are from him so we’ve been getting a high dose of content from his end of the spectrum.
If you’ve ever known a scholarly person then you’d know that they can possess a wealth of knowledge and still look like members of the chess team.
There are lots of large, strong people who are still dumb as a rock so at least consider the possibility that someone can know their stuff without looking like Arnold.
I do cheat reps with skull crushers, using some neck drive to get the bar off my forehead. I’m telling you, great mind connection. You can literally feel the weight with your head. Works great.
This would make my elbows weep like a mother with a missing child.
I’m here to confess that my interest in lifting more weight than I already do is diminishing, and my interest in choking the shit out of people I barely know is skyrocketing. Call me crazy, but I think learning how to break people’s bones and choke them unconscious will have a lot more carryover to regular life than getting to seven plates on the deadlift will.
Careful. You may turn into this guy one day.
that’s such a brilliant analogy
