What makes you think a natural trainee is incapable of clinical overtraining? You’re almost certainly correct with your second statement, but it really doesn’t change anything, the average don’t have to be ‘accomplishing’ a task for it to be possible.
I did not say that they were incapable, I said I would be very interested in watching a natural trainee overtrain.

I am very confident it is possible, I would just want to witness it.

I apologize then, I read more into your comment than was there.

Yeah, size too.

That sounds like an arrangement between those two people that has nothing to do with anyone outside that relationship to me…not “mooching”.
The guy I speak of promptly left that woman after turning pro.

Do you remember reading the old issues of Flex and MM in the 90’s? Every other issue Lee Priest was reported or claiming to be engaged to a different chick -lol. I remember thinking to myself, why does he have to get engaged all the time? Can’t he just date someone? (and he wasn’t the only Pro who did this)

Eh, what do I know,… I waited a few years before popping the question to my girl.

S

I don;t know if I ever over trained but I definitely strained my cns to a point, where I would be excessively moody and my hands would shake. It was weird I think it was from working out like 5 days a week and very intensely at that.

It was funny I had a brazillian friend who asked me if I was on roids. He was prolly 130 at the time so anyone who trained intensely and was bigger probably seemed to be juicing to him. He wouldn’t take any advice from me on training so I left him be in his own ignorance.I was very focused on training then and studying for school, I did nothing else but read this site work out everyday and study. I realized that I was very focused but lacked a social life lol. Made up for it once I hit uni, a lil too hard!

Anywho to contribute to the anonymity of internet hating, it is usually done by those who are so far away from having their ideal body so they rip on others who appear to have an ideal body. To attribute it to steroids is a cop out from a platitudinous point of view. To take some one down because of ones own lack lustre appearance. The internet allows for posters to get their inner self hate out and directed at others. Some will notice their behavior and possibly change.

Others will continue to go through life hating on successful people and attributing their success to genes, money, good looks, roids… when usually any type of success no matter how gifted one is, requires hard work to be the best and the average internet poster s far away from such levels, hence why they are talking smack on a website.

Like I said before, maybe your perspective is off. People break up. In fact, they break up so often it is almost wrong to think any relationship outside of marriage will last longer than it takes that married couple to drive to divorce court.

If he was a “high ranking Olympia contestant” he was bringing money into the house due to endorsements…not to mention I am sure she enjoyed any “status” that may have brought along with sex.

I’m just making the point that you seem to throw these truly negative judgments at people based on the most limited of info mostly because of what seems to be some personal bias you have.

Nothing you have written yet describes mooching.

lol, yeah. I think the majority of people in the gym were extatic(sp) when they found out about over training.
I have to say, I just left the gym. I didn’t see one person there who looked like they were training so hard they were “overtraining”. Most seem afraid to lift very heavy at all.

I also don’t see CT saying anything that would damage someone just because they are natural.

My personal opinion…Leroy Colbert holds a place in bodybuilding history as one of the first men documented with a 21" arm without steroids.

I would think it would be poor form for him to accuse someone else when people accused him for decades.

I doubt ‘dancing’ would be perceived by many as mooching. Still, you have to acknowledge that there is a certain stereotype that a good number of BBers seem to propagate. I know that I have personally known and been friendly with many an NPC (some national level) competitor who lived off their girlfriends all while selling gear out of their cars, and leaving town on weekends to “train” special clients. Heck, I could rattle off names of guys at my last gym who rather than hold down typical 9-5 jobs, made their weekly scratch via ‘muscle worship’ sessions.

Now, while I can admit that these chosen activities may not have any bearing whatsoever on intellect, I don’t think you’re going to have people unanimously agree that these are paths that reflect what most of us would have our offspring select to pursue.

Skip Hill had a rant article in Elitefts about the mooching that commonly occurs in todays bodybuilding that I thought was interesting and somewhat related to your post if you haven’t read it.

I just read it. It’s sad that there are able-bodied individuals out there who beg others on the internet for money so they can train when they please and get free food and supplements. Ridiculous.

Word saiyan mofo’s need to have priorities str8ened out. Like who can respect a man that’s jacked but is useless and doesn’t earn his own living.

Real men admit to using gear.

The thing is I am torn on this one. While e-panhandling comes across as sleazy, I can’t mentally distinguish between it and money being thrown at people who are skilled physically or in some other way. I can’t see it being different than a supplement sponsor giving money to a bodybuilder or athlete. It’s like, “OK, you love seeing me onstage? You wanna see me do some damage? Alright, well I need the money for you to see this.” And people donate VOLUNTARILY.

Even Arnold received tons of help and did some underground stuff to get dough.

I’m not sure how much this certain pro was making at the time, but MOST pros don’t earn a living above a poverty level from strictly being a bodybuilder. If they use their brains, like some amateurs and smart ones like Ben Pakulski, they can earn a decent living from coaching people, supplements, clothing, videos, websites, etc.

And you’re right. Our perspectives are different. Most people’s are from one another. We are brought up in different ways and are influenced by different people and situations. So our definitions of moocher/sponger/freeloader/leech/parasite/shyster/scammer are different.

I like Kali. He seems like a really cool dude and I think he’s a funny guy. I would love to work out with him. If I was in LA I was going to put in an application for The Hyphe U
