I DID respond further above. Please keep up.

I said:

"I don’t have to “know” that CT is taking anything, or has taken anything. As I said, we can calculate his BMI and estimate his BF % and compare it to the pretty large data set we have of natural and unnatural BBs. Given that the data set constitutes our “best”, CT is either a mutant from another planet, or he’s very unlikely to be natural. It’s really pretty simple. "
Like I wrote, you do not know that CT fletcher is taking anything and looking at a limited data set based mostly on one specific population to jump to an accusation doesn’t make any sense.

You simply do not know
and should leave it at that unless you have some other motive.
You don’t seem to have a good feel for logic, and for empirical evidence. You’re high on your own opinions, and you argue very much like the fairer sex - which means in a nutshell, it’s damn near impossible to move you off an opinion once you’ve formed one, and that no amount of logical discourse will result in anything other than you endlessly bickering.

Now that I got that off my chest

The data set is large. It consists of year after year of outliers (people that have competed, which would be alien to you), both natural and “aided.” We know their dimensions, we know their rough BMI’s (for comparison purposes) and we have this data set going back decades. We an even include natural and unnatural lifters. This data set consists of EXACTLY the people you claim to admire (those that achieved something, won contests, etc., and succeeded in the endeavor), not the “have nots”.

No, I don’t have evidence that CT eats cheerios or injects test. His physique is evidence against him, unless he’s so much more advanced than all the other outliers, or perhaps he’s from mars?

Yeah, that’s it. CT is a mutant, and all the other successful guys had to do drugs to get what he has naturally. Yup, sounds likely to me. LOL

I will re-ask my question, as I think it got buried a long while ago.

Who SHOULD we look up to as a natural trainee?
“Look up” to whomever you please. It’s a personal thing. But personally, I don’t “look up” to a drug infused guy squatting 1000 b/c I’m not going to follow his path (by taking drugs). I’m more impressed with the guy squatting 3x or more bwt drug free and equipment free. But that’s me.

The point is though, when you lie, or perpetrate a fraud (misrepresenting natural), you’re going to get criticism.

Surely that’s not unreasonable is it?
Who specifically do you look up to?
I don’t. There are merely those I admire and/or respect.

Why does it matter who I look up to? What’s your point?

EDIT:

by the way, I LOVE your deadlift progression thread. nice work, nice programming. good stuff man.
It just seemed odd to me that you don’t look up to steroid user trainees when you also don’t look up to natural trainees. I would imagine the qualifier would simply be “I don’t look up to anyone”.

I ask because I’m curious. Like I said, I’m trying to find good examples for natural trainees to follow in modern times, due to the issues I’ve talked to before about stigmatizing success.

There is no “point” beyond that. It’s a conversation.

I appreciate the accolades. I got inspired for ROM progression by Paul Anderson. Seems to be working.
I have to say
someone who looks up to absolutely no one in their desired field probably won’t get too far.

You have to have a solid goal in mind of what you are trying to achieve or else you are just spinning your wheels.
Big sigh.

Please list your accomplishments in your chosen sport. Hold on, I’ll give you the space to do so below.

Now that that’s done, let me give you the reality. You’ve done nothing. You’ve never stepped on stage, and you’ve never even dieted down to what would even approach contest shape. And your performance in CO was absolutely underwhelming. You look like a whiner, you don’t carry yourself with any confidence, and on a size to performance ratio, you were probably the worst trainee in that trial.

If I had a nickle for every big fat guy in the gym that’s “bodybuilding” I’d have even more time to post here

Bottom line, I am stronger than you, weigh less, was here before you, and will be here after you’re gone (if it suits me).

By the way, you do understand you can have a “solid goal” and not necessarily look up to someone. Tell me you at least understand that. LOL

Yes.

My goal isn’t that extreme, but some lifters have passed up Eugene’s level of muscle mass and have goals of more.

Sandow holds a place as one of the first PHYSIQUE ARTISTS
and acrobat
and strongmen. He didn’t have access to a bench press let alone all of the equipment we have now.

He wasn’t even at his absolute potential as far as muscle mass.
Do you take steroid professor X?
No, I do not take steroid, Pj. Do you?

How would I know without a drug test?

Could you answer why you use someone who built their body before the invention of a bench press as your role model for physique just to avoid the chance of them using steroids?

That seems strange for someone who takes this seriously.
More of your brilliant logic at work.

They didn’t have a bench press, or that other silly hammer press crap you use (which is why you almost died and stroked out when you had to push the prowler), and that’s why they haven’t reached their maximum potential (because we all know fully developed pecs add 25lbs and 10 points on your BMI).

Yes! You nailed it. The lack of equipment explains the more than 10 point BMI disparities. LOL

I think it is more that the network they fall into has a ton of gay guys willing to give out money just for having a picture taken.

I mean, let’s get serious

I definitely want to look like this, and am willing to do anything to get there: forgo work, hustle, escort, jag off, suck, mooch, scrounge, walk to the gym instead of drive, move to the top of a mountain, ingest buckets of drugs

Nine-to-fivers: jerkoffs, chumps, weak.

Once again, thanks but no thanks, Pj92x. I mean what I say- with asperger’s syndrome, its always a bit headfucking to do anything else. I am still equally interested in form and function and I will not get over the emotional blocks associated with bauhaus principles that I have in a hurry. All I’ll say is that IMO sport is a valid way of dealing with complex emotions without anybody getting hurt. Ritual aggression takes the sting out sometimes. Don’t get involved with anybody who thinks sex is the answer to all their problems though- you will get hurt.

Yes, we can tell our children that it’s possible to go to a gym to work out either in the morning before work or in the late afternoon or evening after work and that it’s OK if a meal or workout is missed here and there because of a life stressor or other responsibility or holidays or weddings or funerals and that their muscles will not disintegrate for doing so and that responsible men don’t put lifting above everything.

This is provided that our children do not have delusions involving pro bodybuilding even being a real career aspiration
except for about five men on this planet at any given time.

Many bodybuilders are gay and there are loads of gays who fetishize bodybuilders. It is a “sport” pretty much funded and first heavily promoted by gays. The first magazines depicting male physiques were gay magazines. Many straight bros might not like that, but it’s true.

Not only are we speaking of men who don’t want to work or are morally destitute, we are speaking of men who have the mentality of children.

Not when you speak in terms of homosexuals as a class of people in general terms like that, no you aren’t, frankly.

What is “not when”? I don’t understand your post as I don’t know what you’re referring to in my post.

Homosexuals are a class of people, as are heterosexuals. And why can’t they be spoken about GENERALLY?

You said, “no, you aren’t”. What aren’t I?

Again, totally confusing post.

Thank you very much!

Mostly for the love of self righteous indignation. Some people love being disillusioned in some strange morbid way.

The people that get on my nerves are the ones who are the self appointed straighteners of the record (the bald guy who’s vids show up a lot here lately comes to mind). That is all he seems to do. I don’t know how successful he may be, but it just seems like an unnecessary case of sour grapes to produce an endless amount of videos calling everybody else liars and cheats while claiming to have the real lowdown on how to get strong. Other S&C coaches that actually are doing well don’t do that. They’re too busy helping people win. They also have the smarts to exercise some discretion instead of popping off like a giddy little 9 year old tattle tale.

Is it really good for the serious lifter? It’s probably a moot point for anybody who is really dedicated. They’re going to do what they do because that is who they are, disenchanted youtube trainers be damned.

Yeah
you don’t see Joe DeFranco making videos bitching about how much everyone else sucks. He just educates and continues to train people, because that’s what he loves to do.
