Big weight! Those were friggin’ LOW.
Nice post-PR gibberish at the end

Thanks! I am pretty sure I was speaking in tongues.

My update: Got 500 for 1 today. Only 45 lb to go lol.

Well… I also tried, but 525 and failed that shit. Did it after my 5-3-1 week, which called for 470 for a single. That shot up, so I figured stop at 1 and go big. 495 went right up. 525 went no where. Dammit, not much time left

I just read this whole damn thread I love a deadlift!

I hit 545 last year

but than got injured a few months later and decided to not be a fat ass anymore and lost over 30lbs

sadly deadlift is at 440 but is actually starting to go back up. So basically I am racing to 545 again as that would be a 3xbw deadlift a big goal of mine.

Hey guys I’m back, I was in Greece for 6 weeks it was great! Anyway I just started 5/3/1, I’m on Cycle 1, week 2, I just Deadlifted a PR of 340x12, I know it’s weaksauce but at least it’s heading noth. I can’t wait till week 3 when I get a crack at 355. Also next cycle has a 365. Maybe in 2011 I will be able to post a 545. Good luck guys with your quest!

I know it doesnt count… but im shooting for 300kg before xmas. sitting at 280kg now.

it may sound like a massive jump, but ive been pulled sets of 8 with 500lbs from 15inch easily and added 30kg to my back squat in 4 weeks.

aiming for a 300kg from 15inch this friday… few more weeks of reps at 15inch for my next comp, then im ripping shit off the floor.

boo ya!

Why not 585 for the 6 disks?
The difference between 545 and 585 is hooooooge. Far more than the difference between 445 and 485.
Yep, I’m planning on it in 2.5 weeks. I’m shooting for 385 + this week against doubled over mini bands on the sumo jump stretch platform. Did 375 after just missing 585 a month ago. My three singles last week is putting me on track.

385 this week, maybe 395 next week, then the discipline to try 585 not 600 the week after.

I’d post video, but I’m a little computer retarded. Still can’t send emails from my I phone yet.

Is it just a technique issue or is it just that abs aren’t strong enough?

Technique is never good enough.

Abs are never strong enough.

Seriously, this isn’t an either/or question. You should probably focus on both.
This is the single best piece of information ever posted on here.
• a lot. Strength makes technique better and technique will help you lift more. they both tie in together.

Well I’ll throw my submission in. I’ll get videos next week when I deadlift again. This week I did a single for 495, followed by 430x7 @ 179 lbs.

Did the 385 against the minis rather easily. Might be looking at 600 instead.

Hit 515 today… no video because my camera is stupid

I pulled 545 tonight. Sorry, no video. First time pulling in my squat suit (super centurian) and wearing a belt. I then put 585 on and got it up to my knees. I sat it down instead of straining against it…In other deadlift news, I attended a bench and deadlift meet (Sons of Light and Power) at the Missouri state fair last weekend. I saw a guy at 163 pull 655. I was humbled, inspired, impressed, and a few other things all at once.

I am plateauing at 525, and I don’t think I will reach 545 in a little less than 2 weeks
The good side is that I don’t use strap anymore.

I will post a video of my best deadlift in 1-2 week anyway

I dont deadlift until I get to a meet. As my DL assistance work goes up, so does my competition pull. That being said:

RDL’s 645x6- 10lb PR

few weeks ago i pulled a 585lb conventional deadlift. i changed my stance to sumo tho so it went down a lil bit. man i should start doing rdls ive been doing good mornings for the past month

Bump, any updates out there?

planning on pulling 605 tomorrow. also building a prowler im hoping thats gonna give me some leg strength gains
