The Daryl Gee Project

LOL @ kaeosali

Some people will complain about anything, no matter how ridiculous. Here an IFBB pro puts on a noticeable amount of lean muscle (after already training for years!), in an especially short duration, and someone’s going to whine about it -lol.

I’ll argue all day that he didn’t put on 18 lbs of muscle…

184.6 this year for Gee

So you are saying he was 166.6 last year at the Olympia??

ok you are right he was around 185 in the first pic
Christian Thibaudeau: @ Anthony: 194 … today he was 191 after his depletion workouts and diet. I expect him to be 190-192 on stage once he loads up on carbs and drop his water

This would put him at around 173 a year ago before he added those 18 pounds of muscle. Which I believe is posted above and I remember reading that somewhere in the past. and 191 on stage this year. So he is not 202 in either of those pictures.
He was 190 in Detroit. The article was written after that contest. In the Olympia he was 185 because we had to avoid a water rebound from peaking two weeks in a row and by playing it safe he ended up losing more water weight. Not to mention that the weigh-in was on Wednesday, before he started his carb-up.

He also flew-in on Tuesday night, and as those who travel often knows flying dehydrates you.

Had the weight-in been n Friday like at most shows he would have been 189-191 like in Detroit.

But thanks for trying to argue semantics. Want to debate his haircut next?
Lyle, is that you?

While I wouldn’t know from experience, I imagine having nothing better to do all day must be a bit depressing at times.

Hey Everybody,

Sorry for being MIA. Now that my post contest rebound muscle cramps have subsided I will be around more now to answer any questions you guys have.

Yes, you are right I did not gain 18 lbs of muscle. i would say more like 11 lbs.

Yeah, should have gone with the bro-hawk I reckon.

11 is a solid number. Awesome job!

Congrats on the progress Gee! Awesome that you’re part of Tnation and for doing all the videos. Thanks for doing the videos and just collaborating with Thibs, as a IFBB Pro its a huge achievement to utilising that prestige on this site.

But now that the Olympia has come and gone, what are your plans now by the way? Whats next?

Thanks guys!

Not really sure what my plans are for competing next year. I will take a look at the 2011 schedule and probably pick one of the later shows in the year so that I will have as much time as possible to put on more quality size as I still have a bit more to go til I’m a true 202 on stage.

I’m really happy that I was able to crack top 10 in the world in my 2nd year as a pro and at only 184 lbs.

Congrats, Daryl. What’s your opinion on the High Performance Mass Training. Are you going to be incorporating a lot of the principles into your regular training? Going to keep doing eccentric-less work and neural charges?

Thanks!

Now that I will be training back in a normal commercial gym the circuits and eccentric-less work will be difficult to do. I will incorporate the neural charge activation before I begin my normal training when I feel like I am dragging a bit.

Are you going to continue with the Anaconda protocol year-round?

Darryl, phenominal job man. I think you were robbed at the Detroit Pro, you easily looked the best. I’ll be following your progress and rooting for you again next year!

Yes, I truly believe the Anaconda/MAG-10 protocol is the key ingredient in allowing my body to recover as quickly as it did during these high intensity workouts. I almost feel empty and somthing is missing when I don’t have the Nalgene bottle with me during my workoouts.

Did you get a chance to see any of the pics from the Olympia? I looked much fuller and tighter at the Olympia.

you looked outstanding!

Good to see you posting here, keep us posted with training, improvements etc.

Of course we saw your pics! And congrats, Daryl. 11 is a VERY solid number for that timespan. The ANACONDA/MAG-10 protocol is definitely the lamborghini when it comes to peri-workout nutrition.

Nice to have you on board with us in the T-Nation forums by the way . . .

I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Daryl Gee at Mr. Olympia weekend and then I saw the Daryl Gee project and got excited! I can’t believe how much muscle he has been able to pack on to his frame and not even weight 200. He’s definitely an inspiration to all hardgainers out there.

After watching the videos, I definitely plan on incorporating the routine into my personal workouts and hope to reap similar benefits within my personal means.

Keep up the amazing work!
