Thanks guys! I will definitely keep you guys posted on whats going on and whats next for me.
Eric: The Lamborghini it is! I saw that another supplement company has an Intra-workout with whey hydrolysate, nice attempt on their part but more like a Camero or Mustang. Definitely doesn’t compare to the casein hydrolysate in ANACONDA/MAG-10 the Lamborgini, which is far superior.
hey daryl, followed the detroit pro and olympia, and you really looked amazing man. congrats.
just wondering how much weight you put back on following the olympia, and if you plan on working with T-Nation for any period during the off-season to really pack on the muscle.
Following the Olympia I gained about 15 lbs from my post contest rebound,. it was mostly from water retention. I went from being dehydrated and sodium depleting to taking in large amounts of fluids and sodium, which in turn caused major muscle cramps. At one point I could barely walk, so I knew I had to tone down the binge eating a little and take some water pills to alleviate the major water retention causing my cramps.
daryl, now that you are training ina regular gym, what aspects of what you have learnt from CT will be implemented? will you be ramping up in 3’s still for most exercises followed by max reps sometimes or will you return to higher rep training?
what kind of split are you using right now?
thanks man
I have been doing traditional bodybuilding training for the last 18 years, so I will more then likely be more comfortable and have a natural tendency to do that type of training. Although, I will continue to use the neural charge activation techniques on days that I am feeling a bit sluggish.
My split is as follows:
Chest and Bis
Legs and Calves
Back and Forearms/Calves
Delts and Tris
From that vid, it almost felt as tho he was going to be hooking up with hany rambod for some training, because said something about his training next year and what he was going to do, almost hinting they were going to be working together.
For stubborn body parts I am a big believer in forced reps. I would also try to train them at least twice per week if not more. I also try changing up the reps per set, so if you have been doing 12-15 reps try doing 8-10 reps but the weight would obviously have to be heavier to justify the lower reps.
I didn’t really jump ship, just focusing on other things and been super busy with my new position with the “Pro Creator”
CT puts a lot of emphasis on the traps by devoting a full training session focusing just on the traps[/quote]
Daryl,
Could you give us your opinion on CT’s methods compared to traditional bodybuilding training? Could you see yourself training like you were in Colorado ever again?
I have mentioned in the videos that CT’s methods are definitely more functional, which is why it is called High Performance Mass Training (HPMT). We were able to build muscle with functional excersizes and movements. HPMT would probably be better as an off season type of training when body fat is higher and joints are not as dry to avoid injury. I definitely had my share of injuries during this prep. Unless your body is already used to this type of training I would probably not suggest using it pre-contest.
Traditional bodybuilding training can be boring at times, but HPMT is definitely not boring. Realistically, to be able to do this type of training to the T, you need to have a facility like the T-Nation headquarters. I train at a commercial gym now so I would not be able to train like this, but i do still use some of the activation methods on days I feel sluggish going into the gym.
I don’t have any comps that I’m setting my sights on this year. My main focus right now is really to help Hany get his company to where it should be. I have been spending a lot of time helping him do everything from sales, marketing and website content.
I am still training hard and trying to get my weight up to at least 215 off season so when I do my next show I will hopefully be on stage in the mid 190’s.
