The Brotherhood of Iron 1.0

P.S. I always enjoyed reading the older versions of the B.O.I. The best part about it to me was you could feel the camaraderie. A place where you truly felt like you were home. Its hard to find people in everyday life to talk to who enjoy and take this shit as serious as I believe most of us do. It’s more than just a hobby. It truly is a way of life.

Stay strong.

/ End emotional rant.

135x6
155x5
165x4
185x3

I don’t necessarily think it’ll be better/worse to do it that way. Just a way to change it up for a while if you stall with straight weights
I’m doing this three times a week so I could add a slower heavier one in and keep the light fast ones too.

I don’t wrestle, I just drop into practices every now and then. I actually want to get into a club around here to help me drop quicker. I cant condition on my own the way wrestling another 250+ dude can condition me…evident in the fact that complexes kill me now, whereas in midseason Doing a superset of speed roping and squatting was normal…I imagine the starvation thing didnt help my metabolism much especially doing it at random times for years.

I’m holding on to my weight mainly because of my lifestyle. Like I said, if I’m not training someone or in class I’m sleeping …typically my training hasnt had complexes

3x5
5x3
3x3

was my typical set/rep for pressing squatting and deading

and 4x6 for the other stuff

nothing really cut specific because I struggle with ego when picking up weights that “chad” is using…the reason I got to 320 was because I used ph earlier this fall and back in march superdrol and halodrol

my goal is to get back to 260
Stuntman Mike wrote:

stiff leg deadlift 320x3 best touch n go
regular deadlift 420x3 cluster set

(actually proud that I don’t use gloves, straps,or chalk)

squat 455 parallel free weight
500ish smith machine parallel

Hi I got a couple questions for you big guys!
Here are my stats.

I’m 17. A buck fifty been lifting “properly” 2 years, 5’10 and growing.

All the lifts are 5x5 at that working weight, after I ramp with warmups.
Squat 210
deadlift 195
bench 145
ohp 95
power clean pr at 150

pullups 20+
chinups 25?
Bbr 110

WTF is my deadlift lower? All the kids I’ve seen on the net DL twice their bw with a 1.5bw squat. Is it cos I started late? I’ve been adding 5lbs per workout and not much problem with pulling it for 5 reps though squats are starting to stall.

Why are trap bars called trap bars and what are they for?

I know I don’t eat enough, cos I can’t afford it right now but when school starts I’ll have an income as I give tuition. I think I eat 2k-2.5k a day now and during school days at least 3k.

I workout whole body about 2-3 times a week and curl/cgbp about once or twice a fortnight, just to be cool… Ummm oh yeah and I supplement with whey and am gonna start with fish oil soon (income).

WTF @ my deadlifts?!

You could just have t-rex arms. Some people are built better for some lifts. Short limbs can give you an advantage on squats, but kill you on the deadlift.

Trap bars are called trap bars because when your standing in them, they trap you in the bar. At least thats what I’ve always thought. It’s just another thing you can use to deadlift, it places more emphasis on the quads.

Drop the ‘arm work just to be cool’ bullshit. Start training your arms just like you train everything else. And 2 years of “proper” training and you have those numbers? Even eating 2000-2500 calories, you can still get stronger.

What do you weigh now and where did you start? Something tells me you haven’t been training “properly” for 2 years dude

In my opinion, I would rather have someone have a “clean” deadlift or implement rack pulls than brag about a big number only to cringe at the form the trainer has when they go for the lift. Its not always about the number man.

Buy whole milk (around 2.50 a gallon here) and a thing of oats and pound away at it man. Go for canned tuna with mustard is another cheapo meal. If growing is your goal you have to feed it. Keep on hitting it hard and fuel it as best as you can. Eventually something will go and you’ll start seeing those numbers go up. Dont sacrifice form for a bigger lift. Alot of the kids on the net are exactly that. Kids on the net.

Youre still very young so I wouldn’t worry about starting late. You started around the same age as I did.
