The Brotherhood of Iron 1.0

If I could squat on a regular basis, I would be much more concerned.

Thanks though

EDIT:

Nothing hurts when I’m done. I feel my back after the set yes, but get DOMS in my ass, hams & quads as well as know they are doing a significant amount of work.

I can’t go lower. Flexibility issues and my leg/knee won’t allow it.

Video fail, give me a few mins to put a different song on it and see if YouTube will let it play

(Can’t edit my post cuz it isn’t up)

Fuck youtube so bad right now, three different songs, all snagged.

That’s cool if the BOI is going to start back up here. It always had a great concept. Don’t know what the next versions are going to be called though lol. Might as well throw up today’s workout while I’m here.

Deadlift 395x1, 375x1, 335 x 2, 2
Pulldowns 150 3x7-10 reps
Db Bench Press
Upright Rope Rows
BTN Dumbell Extensions

Felt like shit today, pretty much ran out of gas after the first two exercises, just went heavy for 5-10 reps for several sets on the others.

nice thread

Some stuff I have done recently
(531)
squat 315 for 10
deadlift 415 for 8 (dead stop)
DB row 120*23
DB hammer curl with the 65’s for 6 rep

Dont ask me about the bench

I wish there would be a brotherhood of Iron in real life, last week I helped a kid start out, I explained everything to him and he would rather not squat and deadlift ‘‘cuz it hurts your growth’’ and stick with machine routine. He wants to believe the illusion

anyway as I said nice thread it seems worthy to follow

2.0, 3.0, and so on. No more bullshit Brotherhood titles. Come on guys keep on posting in this thing! Bring it back

My buddy John can’t squat very low. Corey used to have the same problem, but just worked on his Hamstring flexibility over the past year, and it’s made a huge difference. Me, I used to get the DOMS in my hams and glutes moreso than my quads. Shifting to front squats has made all the difference in the world for me. Takes a little getting used to the form differences though, but definitely worth it in the end.

I’m in

Squats: 2 singles at 105kg (235) below parallel. I went for 250 and bailed spectacuarly - the safety bars actually snapped! This is what happens when you go back to your rubbish old gym for the holidays… this power rack has been there since the Stone Age

Stiff Legged Deadlifts - worked up to 110kg (250) x 8 felt good

Trap Bar Deadlifts on a 6 inch platform: 130kg (290) for 8 and 225 for 20. by the 20th rep I thought my quads would explode. At least this gym has a trap bar…

A couple of days ago I got weighted chins + 25kgs for 3, each from a dead hang and rack pulls I got 160kg (360) for 3

Only been lifting ‘properly’ since May but liking the gains

Good stuff mate. I know the feeling. I just had it happen on a peel set on the front squat. Went down on my 16th rep and never came back up! I let the bar roll of my delts and collapsed on the floor.

christmas eve squatting, 3/3/3 day

275x3
305x3
345x5

front squat
135x3
155x3
185x3
205x3
225x3
245x3

Standing leg curl (weight is in number of plates in the stack)
2x12
4x12
6x12

Reverse hyper
90x12x3

Kneeling ab pulldown
140x20
150x20
165x20

Squatted in my new oly shoes today, I didn’t know if thered be a learning curve or what, but I felt fine and they felt really good to squat in. Worked up to an easy triple in front squats after back squats also, could have had 275x3 and maybe a rep or two at 295 but I didn’t want to push it too hard.

Reverse hypers were hellish, like normal, and I was able to get a really good burning feeling when doing the abz so I enjoyed it. Today was just an all around good session, everything felt good, no nagging injuries showed up and I was able to do everything I wanted without much bitching from my body.

Also had my weekly cheat meal after which was a double chicken fajita from Chiptole, 3 reeses cups, a hershey kiss, a handful or two of sour cream and onion chips, and a nutra grain bar haha. Very satisfied with everything.

x2 on the hamstring flexibility to help with squat depth. Stretching that, my hips and hip flexers and my glutes has been amazing for my squats/deadlifts

KeyStone Deadlift
Conventional Deadlift
Barbell Row
Power Clean
Front Squat
Military Press
Back Squat

Complex

6 reps
5 reps
4 reps
3 reps
2 reps
1 rep

same stuff today, took 15 seconds off the rest times

wrestling tonight at 6

knockin dudes around at the bar tonight (is that cardio?)

anyway question

for the complexes I thinking of doing a pyramid vs keeping the same weight

what y’all think?

135x6
155x5
165x4
185x3
205x2
225x1

slower reps and lil longer rests

I don’t necessarily think it’ll be better/worse to do it that way. Just a way to change it up for a while if you stall with straight weights

I’m in my lifts right now are
315 deadlift for 7
205 front squat for 3
190 Bench for 1

Really happy with my overall progress, my bench back in may was around 145x2, back squat was 135 for 7 and deadlift 185 for 5. Weight went from 145 to 160. Starting 5/3/1 in the new years with one of my friends, should be fun.

Hell yea… lets get bigger and stronger til the next fucking century and beyond

CGBP: 4 sets: 235x2,225x1,215x1,205x1
Barbell curls: 4 sets 100x2,95x1,85x1,75x1

I also recently hit a PR in deadlifting by pickin up 455, felt fucking amazing. I also hit PRs in the clean and snatch 195 for the clean, 145 for the snatch.

Pussies r made for screwing not lifting!

Yeah, I bet you were feeling the DOMS by the time you walked to your car. Bet that 12th rep on deads felt like your traps were gonna come off.

Great job.[/quote]

Thanks. The last 2-3 reps were killer and were probably a little forced especially off the bounce. I was toast for the rest of my workout and it suffered.
