That is rough…

If anybody remembers/cares, I was having some problems with my split. Constantly changing it up every week trying to find the “right one.” I followed my own advice and what i would have said to somebody in my situation. “Shut up and lift!” I went back to an old split I had good success with and will stick with it for a minimum of 3 months. Just so happens a man called Dorian followed the same one lol so I can’t be to far off track.

Anyways… Some Highlights…

Weighted pull-ups:

110 x 3 at 202 lbs.

Feel I coulda hit 120, maybe 125 if it was a good day, but I’m trying that new CT thing where I stop once a rep becomes slower than the one before it (though I did control the negatives until the bottom 1/3, or so).

Had to put that here, because no one in my house gives a shit.

78-80kg depends when I weigh myself during the day. been doing squats for 6 months but started training in january. aim is to hit 90kg some time this year, 85kg by my birthday in march.

Worked out a 0500 this morning. I feel like someone took a Louisville Slugger to me. Got the best late Christmas present ever though. My brother got me Arnold’s New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding. All Ive done is kind of casually browse it so far and its ridiculous. I cant wait to really delve into it. I tried one of his “Basic” workouts this morning, hence why I feel like death…

I went to the dr. for my hand today. Nothing is broke but I didn’t expect there to be anything broke. It is all in the MCP joint. Doc told me to buy a rigid thumb splint (he would put it in a cast but the splint works just as well and didn’t cost me more money. I’m to wear the splint for 4 weeks and if I don’t get any relief, I’ll have to go to a hand specialist. He thinks I tore a ligament and unless it is completely torn, it should heal on its own. So, Beans for the time being, I’m with you on the DL.

I’ll join in too. this is from tonight

Question for the people who deadlift 500 or above: How long did it take you to go from 400 to 500?

@countingbeans

People seem to overcomplicate things at times. Dorian mentioned in his book the few splits he followed as he progressed through him career, and aside from dealing with an injury, he pretty much stuck with what worked for him without getting too fancy about his bodypart breakdown. I’ve followed 3-4 different schedules myself in the 17 years I’ve been training, and at this point, I always come back to one in particular when I gain, and one in particular when I cut.

I’m a huge pussy, and the lift is in my head…

Just frustrated with it not moving as fast as before.

With bodybuilding aspirations I’ve been training for almost 4 years. I had 2 years of curls for da gurls/TBT/go to the gym to waste time. During that 2 year window of time none of my lifts progressed as my main concern was having hawt abz. I never broke 200lbs.

I did myself in repping 405 sloppily Beans. Remember to keep the form tight. Not everybody can be like Detz get away with bouncing the bar and hitching every rep. Seriously, I dont wish the hell I went through on you Beans. Keep it tight.
