Great comeback after the knockdown in the second.
By the way, where do you always get those gifs, Donut? Good stuff.

A poster by the name of Kayo usually makes them on Sherdog and Bloodyknux.com and I save them. I have a couple gig’s worth from every Pride/UFC/K-1/Boxing match over the past few years. I downloaded the software to do it, but haven’t played with it yet.

Kelly Pavlik for emperor. That is all I can say about that. We have a new hero here in Youngstown.[/quote]
The fight was everything that’s good about boxing. Both fighters were class acts.
The rematch I believe will be at 166 with a similar outcome. If so, I would love to see if a Pavlik/Calzaghe fight could be arranged.
Apparently the promoters are saying both fighters will probably get an interim fight at 160, then the rematch will be at super middleweight (168). Winner of that rematch versus the winner of Calzaghe/Kessler would be legendary.
Speaking of which, I can not wait for Calzaghe/Kessler. The Welsh 1000 slap attack versus the big slugger.
Agreed. Kessler is a beast. I am not usually a fan of fighters with Calzaghe’s type of style but after he demolished Lacey I was won over.
I can’t wait for Pacquiao/Barrera either.
It was a fun fight to watch. I need one other person to knock taylor out so they can say the whole class is good and not that pavlic just came at a time when it sucked.
Just found this thread. I used to box, never went pro but still a huge fan of the fight game, mma included. Great fight last night. Finally one worth watching that didn’t suck! I’ve been waiting for the Calzaghe fight for a while! I actually like Calzaghe’s fight style, vs Kessler someone should be going down!
A lot of good fights coming up! Pacquiao/Barrera, Cotto/Mosley, Mayweather/Hatton, Delahoya/Pictures.
Larry Merchant puts me to sleep! Oh, am I the only one who hates the music both Showtime and HBO play at the opening titles. Those producers are still in the eighties, I swear it sounds like the opening credits to Knots Landing or Dynasty!

I don’t know, I kinda like the opening music for HBO boxing. I always hum along, DO! do do do do dooooooo! DA! da da da da daaaaaaa!
I love hearing Jim Lampley comment on the bouts too. I wish I had a Lampley sound board for everyday life!
Say your prayers everyone, because Evander just got on a plane to Russia. I just hope Sultan doesn’t kill him in the ring. Seriously at age 45, and sounding way more punchy than a boxer should at that age, I’m worried about the safety of the greatest cruiser of all time.
Ibragimov can fucking bang.
Unfortunately, that’s the only thing that will stop Evander from fighting.
And,Larry Merchant needs to be put out to Pasture.
Evander needs to quit, he is creating a new language that only other punch drunk boxers or trainers will be able to understand.
What are the thoughts of the Jones/Trinidad fight?
It seems kinda irrelevant(check my spelling on that word Donut62, I’m unsure) at this point. More of a one last hoora than a real boxing match. I was a huge fan of the “Clear using” Jones of old, but once he got off the good stuff, his fights started to suck. Meaning “he” started to suck and his fights were boring to watch. Maybe he’ll come in Cleared out and impress once again.
Peter/McCline and Pacman/Barrera tonight. The Buckeyes take precedence over all earthly pursuits, so hopefully I can catch the end of these or a replay.
I’m really happy with the Pavlic victory. Tough, blue collar guy. Very impressive.
My man Hatton’s day is coming… God bless him!
