Straps.
Who uses them? Pros, cons in a STRICTLY BODYBUILDING context.
My opinion is to use them since you can move more weight on things like deads, RDLs, rows, and the like. However, for some reason i don’t use them on chins.
How often should you eat? Would four huge meals fit? When should you eat? When you’re hungry? Discuss.

no scientific data or studies to quote saying that eating more often is beneficial but it’s been easier for me to eat more kcals split into as many meals as possible. my body temp also rises a little more when i do this say about 7-8 “meals” per day. i say “meals” because they are pretty small probably about 350-400 kcals right now.

Pros: allow you to focus on a given bodypart without worrying about grip.
Cons: able to turn into a crutch and eventually weaken your grip. Just be smart about it.

I use 'em because I can do more reps. When the grip gives out on a deadlift or heavy ass rack pull, but the rest of you still has 3 or 4 reps left, that pisses me off. So I use them to get those reps. I use them on pullups because i tend to pull with my arms, so I can loosen the grip and pull with the lats.
anyone take a b-complex? i started taking one before the workout and in the morning and i feel more energized throughout the day and have a better workout. any thoughts?

That should be a staple (along with a multivitamin) due to it aiding in digestion.

I agree with this when going heavy. My torso dominates my arms and so minimizing when I use straps has helped with developing my arms. I did this when I switched from a split to a total body workout with some success.
sorry to hijack the thread but i’m a noob (1.5 years training) and have a TON of questions. what does everyone think about CNS fatigue? is that a real issue or should you just man up drink some coffee and hit the f-in weights?

The latter. Unless you are doing something ridiculous like training for three hours, teach your body to handle greater stress. I swear, if most of you get fatigued that easily, stay away from any grad school programs.

I don’t get DOMs in either my biceps or shoulders. hey just pump up a lot when training them. From what I gather, many experience that in body parts that grow the fastest for them. I am not sure if that is the case with you.

This is not some blanket statement and I am referring to those who some might refer to as “genetically gifted”. If you can build arms over 18", I would put you in that category. I am simply saying I have heard the same from some competitors who have body parts that grow faster.
That doesn’t mean it applies to every newb weighing all of 130lbs.

The parts that grow faster experience less DOMS. Less DOMS, less time spent recovering means they were repaired faster, provided they were stimulated enough for growth.

Not necassarily true - think biceps.

On a side note, holy shit I’ll never be able to keep up with this thread. Figures the day I join it, it blows up.
I see. I was mostly asking because the more seasoned guys at my gym were telling me they don’t generally get DOMS in their biceps either, so I was curious as to what everyone else experienced around here. My biceps have always been my hands-down worst part of my body, but I did also use to either not train them, or do 14+ sets on them consistantly.
