Quick topic for those that still squat, ATG or parallel and does it really matter?
I did parallel for years but have been working ATG for the last month or so, dropped the weight considerably too. It’s too soon for a verdict though.

Those 6-8 inches make all the difference in the world.
I guess I’ve been given a testicle back.
About sleep: I’ve been using ZMA for a week now and I can say I get very good rest. I even slept for 6 hours the other night, which is nothing for me, and felt refreshed when I woke up. Many people say they have vivid dreams with it and I have had some, I think this probably means you are getting more REM (the good kind of ‘dream’ sleep) which is why you can wake up feeling refreshed. More of your sleep time is quality sleep.
As for squats, I did ATG with less weight for the last 3 months or so. I have no stopped because as I increase the weight I realize my back lumbar region is starting to round and tuck under at the bottom position and that is recipe for disaster. I also had a hip twinge which didn’t help either. So I’m sticking to parallel or slightly below parallel, rather.

You think we’ll get an explanation for the other pages missing?

i never said it was. all i did was a question about what you guys thought about it. i asked if anyone on here who would fall into the common category of “ectomorph” (as i described it) had used heavy sets to success. its all i wanted to know from the start but then everyone and their mother chimes in about “omgz dont say ecto” and “dont listen to everything TC says blah blah” dude im not, im just wondering what people in my genetic shoes have found to work well for them.

Of course not.

As far as the squats are concerned, I’ve been going A2G for a while now, but I’m thinking about switching to box squats, because I’m feeling my back round out like GS was saying. I’ve been working up in weight, too.
At least I can show my face. Even if it is a delayed showing.
How long will the blatant discrimination against and disdain for bodybuilding go on in the self proclaimed “world’s largest bodybuilding…think tank”?

New discussion for people to learn from:
How important is sleep? How long should you sleep? Should you take daytime naps? Discuss.
I’ll throw in my part after work.
Sleep is as important as nutrition and training, IMO.
7 hours a night minimum, and a nap.
I’m gonna have to agree and disagree with ya here buddy. Sleep is definitely as important and lack of it is highly detrimental. However I do believe that how much is as individual as anything else within reason. Nobody claiming to do well on 35 minutes a night can be taken seriously, but some people just sleep less than other people.
In other words I do go along with all the bad stuff that happens to people who don’t sleep enough, but “enough” can be quite a bit less for some people than others. 7 hours is a long night for me and I’d have to drug myself to sleep that much every night. Don’t know why, it’s just how I’ve always been. Too much under 4 hours and I’m yawning all day, but 4 - 6 is and always has been plenty. I almost never sleep straight through either. Not because I’m busy or anything, but that’s just how much I sleep.
My post was confusing - I was saying that sleep/recovery is as important as training and nutrition. The 7 hours minimum and a nap is what I need.
And after reading how fucking weak I am at the damn leg press, I’m probably going to start taking 3 or 4 naps. [/quote]
My mistake, I see that now that I reread it in that light.

If you feel your back rounding, look up. Your back will follow your head, and flatten out.

I have to confess - I have been hitting refresh continually for the last 4 days. I am afraid about 6500 of those views are mine.
Sorry.
Cant wait to see TC’s statement, if you’ve been watching the tech support thread.
