I have the same problem. I have to remember to “walk/stand like a dancer”. You stand and your tummy sticks out, then you straighten your spine and stand “straight” you’re like “oh…that’s what I’m supposed to look like.” At least you don’t have that horrible rounded shoulder posture I see a lot of young women having now. I always want to tell them to pull their shoulders up and back.

I feel like i could have pulled all 5 @ 200 (as in get it up), but it would have been ugly, so I just settled for 3. Last time I erroneously pulled 2x205, so I’m happy with this.

And I think the high reps on the rack pulls are really helping.

Gonna hit the gym tomorrow and do a metabolic circuit. I got the idea from this month’s On Fitness mag. I’m excited - 9 lifts in 1/2 hour!

I understand the quest for sick abs. I don’t have any abs - the top ones are slightly visible under bright overhead light but I am carrying a fairly substantial bagel around the belly button. And dammit, I’ve been on a diet, more or less, since Christmas (give or take the odd break for holidays and the like). I get the “but you’re not fat” thing the whole time. Grrr.

So I went in this am for my quickie metobolic circuit. You’re supposed to do 8 reps of 3 exercises (supersetted) for 10mins without rest and then move on to another 3 exercises for a total of 9 lifts in a 1/2 hour. You can take as much time as you want to complete all 8 reps of each exercise, as long as you keep it challenging within the 10 mins.

I ended up with this:

BB circuit 1 - 4x8x50
RDL
OHP
Front Squat

DB circuit 2 - 4x8x25
Row
alternating lunges (so 16 in total)
Incline press

BW circuit 3 - 2x8xBW
Tricep dip w/ feet elevated (I ended up weighting these with 15lbs DB)
Pistol squats (16 in total)
pushups (regular)

So yeah, the last circuit was kinda easy and I cut it short b/c my lower back was starting to hurt. Freaking rack pulls! But it was a good little 1/2hr and something I’ll definitely use again.

Kick ass workout.

Yesterday was upper body day - it was a weak sauce day, so I’m a bit bummed.

Chins - the 10lb/5lb/BW deal that I love so much, unfortunately didn’t go so well. Made me wonder if that one day where I smoked the chins was just a fluke.

Explosive pushups (supersetted w/ chins) - 4x15 < I guess its a PR that I was actually able clap in between pushups…lol

N pullups - 2, 1
2 Med ball p/ups - 2x10 < ps. glad you like these nlmain, aren’t they fun!
Flat bench - 8x30, 4x35, 5x30 < not even close to what I did last time
chest flyes - 3x15x20
tri dips feet elevated - 3x10x20

Not sure what was going on last night. Could be stress, could be cuz i’m coming off the deload, or it could be the diet (undereating?). Who knows. Just gonna move forward.

Anyways, I was all bummed and feeling totally weak and heavy last night, so i asked my trainer friend Vic, “What do you do when you aren’t feeling a workout” and he says, “uh…stop working out and go grab a beer” Ha!

And then, as i mentioned in main’s log, Vic kindly taught me how to properly do 1 Arm DB snatches after he saw me do them and told me my snatch was ugly :frowning:

Basically, while I was getting the snatch in 1 movement I was doing more of a high pull + a push press, but wasn’t getting the flick. He also said I should just go ahead and try to get air and land flat foot, knees bent. I was taught to do the flick to tippy toes and then lock-out. I’ll vid it once I get my camera back so you see what i mean.

Anywho, since i was feeling all down and out I went and bought myself some chucks - black on black, cuz that’s how I roll…

You want some of my ‘crack’ for more chins? Which I can’t understand b/c you did a lot.

I don’t think I’ll ever get olympic lifts so I don’t fuck with them. At least you were close.

You are soo sexy and beautiful Maschy!! What a rude trainer, I’m sure this person gets bloated every once in awhile too and doesn’t want attention drawn to it! If anyone approached me in the gym and told me I was “getting fatter” on a day when I was bloated…whewy, I would be breaking some of those unnecessary mirrors we have everywhere…with their head. Anyway, I have never had sick abs like you, so thats what I’m aiming for! I promise to post bikini pics soon if you do too!

Id like to see what my abs look like before I die…count me in!
