At any rate, Friday I wasnāt able to do pilates and didnt feel like cardio, so i thought I do sqwatz. Oh boy EPIC fail! The bar felt so freaking heavy.

After that I was like, āoh fuck noā and bounced.
Iām calling this a fluke, esp since I had done triples at 145 and 150 the week before. I have some thoughts on why I sucked hard core. First I havenāt been sleeping much the last few days and only had 4 hrs of sleep the night before. However, thanks to the diet (and probably also lending to the debacle), I still feel like i have loads of energy, thus confusing myself.
Honestly, Iām not at all pissed by this. Quite the opposite. I realize if I could just harness this new found energy - get more sleep, get more clean cals (yes more!), i think i could get back into good shape. So iām looking forward to re-doing squat day later this week.
That said, in keeping with the brutal honesty that is PW. Here is video of EPIC fail! yee-haw!

Weāre having a good time watching the games! My son was inspired and got his ball so he could work on his footwork while watching the Argentina game. Made me laugh. He plays keeper most of the time and has a game in a couple of hours. Iām a proud dad.
Donāt worry about the squats. I ended up on the pins myself a couple of weeks ago and hit a PR yesterday. During the first 3-4 sets yesterday I was thinking āuh oh, these feel very heavyā but I just kept ramping up in sets of 2-3 reps so I didnāt fatigue myself and it worked out okey dokey.
you have pretty good form on your squatsā¦looks like you lost your tightness at the bottom of the 3rd, strength is definitely there. Yep, sleep is a big recovery tool, I know that so wellā¦lol.

Oh yeah. Been there, dumped that except with lighter weight on the bar. Skwatz were looking fundamentally good otherwise though! Tweak the diet and the sleep, and I share your confidence that all is well.

I had another set back that put me out of the gym again for a while damnit! Had a toe injury and got stitches and everything. I had no idea how an injured toe could adversely affect something as simple as walking⦠or standing⦠or wearing shoes⦠or doing those beloved squats. I went through pretty heavy withdrawals over the squats issue ![]()

Thanks ladies! I was praying this one would go, seeing as the other 2 lifts are having a moment. So iām glad for it.
I have been sleeping about 5-6 hrs a night for the last five months and now I have a little respite, so Iāve been sleeping loads. Till 9am some days! Last night I slept 10hrs (sorry insomniacs :-/ ). This clearly helps.
Today was an upper body day. I decided to make weighted chins my ābig liftā. I have no dip belt so I use the 5lb weighted belt, tie it around my waist, and stick a 5lb plate under it. The idea was 5x5x10lbs. If I canāt do 10, I remove plate to just the weighted belt, if i canāt do that I drop the belt and go to BW. So itāll goes, 10/5/BW
4/1/0, 3/2/0, 2/3/1, 2/1/2, 1/1/3 < cute linebacker was working out next to me, heās clearly gay

N grip pullups (BW obvs) - 3, 2, 2, 2, 1
explosive pushups - 4x15
Bentover lat raises - 4x4x10
Flat bench db press - 12x25, 11x30, 2x8x30 < I think iām going to stay with lower reps for this. Not sure if its right, but I really used leg drive on the last set and felt it helped a lot.
And that was it! Iām trying to lean out a tad, so I should really add some sort of circuit at the end. But Iāll get my cardio in tomorrow. Iām playing pick up, iāll be sure to run a bit while iām out there.
