It’s up to you, but I might change up the set/rep scheme on the floor press so you can go a little heavier. If you have trouble getting the dbs up you can do them unilaterally, too.

Last night was upper body. I went to a new gym that was close to the soccer field. New gym = new peeps and new equipment = frazzled Mascherano.

Supersetted:
Pullups - 7x2, 3x1 < got one more set of 2 then last. how nice for me ← that’s sarcasm
feet elevated p/ups - 3x15, 1x20 < all 15 completed, that’s nice
Floor press - 6x40, 8x40, 2x4x40 < when up in weight to drop reps. who knows why these numbers were so wonky. fatigue? distraction? both?

face pulls - 4x12 < i have no idea what the weight was on these thanks to the cable machine being unmarked, let’s just say “challenging enough”

Then after that I hit a soccer scrimmage, played footie for about an hour and called it a night.

Just some random notes:

  • the pullups were on a different bar and the grip was farther apart than I’m used to. Reminded me that I should really work on those pronated pullups again. So i’m thinking of doing a pullup trifecta: chins, pronated and neutral on different days.
    -watched a couple working out together, the girl was about to clear a bar with 45 plats on it and the dude says, “wait honey, don’t lift that, its heavy” total face palm
    -finally, someone asked me if I was a body builder. guess they don’t get many girls lifting weights in that gym. made me chuckle.

Nice pullups despite your sarcasm Masch, and I like my familiar space too cause I can slip in my bubble and zone. It’s way tougher to do that in a new space.

You’re doing well on the pull-ups. Are you doing pronated on these?
How is the new gym, btw?

Definitely change up the chins/pulls/neutral grip. I was just training chins for awhile, but I think doing all of the grips is better training for me.

Cal - thanks! I’m doing Neutral grip. Pronated hurts my bitchy shoulder. But I definitely need to get back to the pronated so i’m going to keep switching up grips.

Tonight was DL. I went with triples like I did with the squat. All in all not bad. I started where I left off at 175 and worked up to 185. Here’s the vid for anyone interested (HGH belly FTW!). I still suck at bringing hips through and “spreading the floor”. After my immanent deload, I think i’m going to go back to a more manageable weight and work on these two specific things, as well as getting explosive - these bitches were sticky! We’ll see.

Maschy!!! Guess what! I thought of you last night (well I usually do but not in the same way this time.lol) I saw AC Milan play against my Montreal Impacts live at the Olympic stadium! It was freakin awesome!! Ronaldinho score once, the game ended 4-1 for AC Milan. They were beautiful to watch. Although our team isn’t in the same division I felt they kinda held up well. Atleast we managed to score 1 point. I can’t believe I got to see this for like 25$ - such a win!. There were 48,000 people watching. Now i’m sure that’s not huge in parts of Europe but for Montreal the hockey city- it’s quite a feat.

Oh and you look scrumptious as always with those legs straining against the pants.mmm. I thought your speed wasn’t to bad cereally we’ve seen slower stuff around here.

as for the rackpulls: pin height and chalk determines the max lift I can do. I can pull 300lbs above the knee and mid knee. Now working me way up below the knee.

DLs look good. You do a great job of keeping your hips down even as the weight gets heavier. Squeeze those glutes a bit more at the top. Your explosiveness looked better, too. You didn’t seem tentative.

I’m heading into a deload, so no regularly scheduled workout. This is when I do anything from fuck-all to random exercises depending on my energy. I also started the Warrior diet. Everytime I say this I feel like it should be accompanied by some sort of fanfare - trumpets or a lion’s roar. Anyways, i’m all nervous that i’m going to pull a DJ Tanner and pass out on the stair master. But i was surprised how energetic I was during the workout, and yesterday’s too. Odd. But my tummy does rumble and that makes me sad (it’s ok baby).

Anyways, I told everyone in the gym that i was on it so they’d know if for some reason I did pass out. HAH! Dieting is such a mindfuck. I could really use Cesar Milan right now - every time i think of food he pokes me in the neck. Knowing that I get a “feed” at the end of the day keeps me happy though. How sick is that?!

pullups pronated - 4x2 < haven’t done these in a while, so i feel good about this. I hope this diet leans me out some, that would make these much easier.

A) WHY are YOU dieting??? You look fine as wine to me! I thought the Warrior diet was a lifestyle way of eating, not a ‘diet.’ …you couldn’t choose traditional methods?

I just saw that episode of Full house a couple weeks ago. My son watches it in the mornings before school. no really, he does!! Hope you had fun at the flea market…I would have still gone to the beach.

Well, i’m not technically “dieting” (and thank you MiM!!). As you suggested the “Warrior Diet” fanfare is supposed to be a lifestyle, a consequence of which should be to lean out. Other things is supposed to do (in colloquial terms) is improve energy, fight cancer, keep one looking young. I decided to jump on this bandwagon b/c like everyone else, I need energy. Plus i’m vain, and i want to look young forever (impending cougardom).

Basically you under eat (or fast) during the day and then have one giant meal at night. When you under eat you’re able to have some fruit, veggies and light protein like yogurt or eggs. When you feed you can have almost everything you want, but it needs to be eaten in order of salad, protein, veg, carbs (i snicker at this ridiculousness).

I know that I come off as very easy-going, but when it comes to these life style changes I’m really critical. I don’t even take supps or whey or vits b/c i want to keep my habits as simple as possible. All this to say, that while I am doing this, its clearly being treated as a science experiment. In fact, as a scientist, we would call this “disorded eating” - conscious eating habits that deviate from the norm.

Anyways, my problem thus far is that my feeds have included a lot of bad things - last night i had onion rings, the night before i ate an assload of chocolate. So basically I reward myself for fasting by eating shitty foods. This wont do. Also, the book gives you this stupid ass rule on how to eat your foods (that i snickered too up top). I don’t mind eating my salad first, but the rest seems inconsequential to me. Obviously, if you eat your carbs at the end you won’t eat as much since you’ve filled up on meat and veg, so there’s no magic there.

I won’t bore you with all my gripes re: this “lifestyle”. It has had some benefits too. I’ve been drinking a lot more water, and I mean A LOT. So that’s good and that’s also probably why my skin looks so much better (and prbs why there are claims for eternal youth on this). I’m going to give it a couple of months and believe me, I AM optimistic. But i always find that its good to be objective when doing these things, remember my boobie pill debacle?..i don’t need to relive that ordeal.

I’m interested to hear how this Warrior Diet experiment turns out for you. I actually tried eating like that a couple of days last week, and like you, I found myself ‘rewarding’ myself with lots of junky food in the evenings. Probably not the best way to go about it!
