Last night workout was cut short. I lifted with my girl Julie from the soccer team. Wanted her around to spot my bench. We had a lot of catching up to do tho and bitch got dramz, so there was A LOT of gabbing going on. And then we had to go to meet up with the team for end of season drinks - i had a diet coke, how’s that for dedication?

I’m incredibly underslept and have been getting 5 hrs of sleep a night for a little over a week now. At least its consistent. Erratic sleeping is no good for me. The food situ has thus far been under control.

Bench - 5x 65, 75, 85, 95 and then 6x105 < last time my final set was 4x110, so i’m clearly stuck b/w 105 and 110.

BB Rows - 5x50, 60, 70, 80, 90

Chins - 5, 5 < finally got to try out the dip belt. My new plan of action is to weight the belt with 5 lbs, try to get all 5 chins, drop weight during the set when I can’t pull up and finish set without weight. Last night I did 3 and 2 weighted.

And that was that. We went to a different gym last night and it was swarming with peeps which ruined my flow. And with Julie being Julie, working out was a challenge. Remind me not to work out with her anymore.

Anyways, my abs were sore from Monday’s weighted sit ups and yesterday I did 1.5 hours of conditioning which included 1/2 hour of core work. It hurts to laugh and sneeze.

Tonight playing in pick up. Tomorrow squat and pilates.

staying stuck happens to all of us. I worked on my bench for months on then switched gears to my squat, still benching but not hoping to hit amny PR’s. My plan is that after a few months of focusing on something else, when I get back to it, my numbers should get better. What I’m trying to say is… Awesome chins :slight_smile:

Oh Masch, your vid made me so nostalgic for my soccer-playing days!! Love your team’s uniforms too, they’re so bright and gawdy (in a great way). And yeah, you look super-cute on that soccer pitch (or anywhere else, I’m sure).

Nice training in here too - way to go on improving your deadlift form, and upping the weight on your bench (those 5 reps at 110 will come! The floor presses should help, especially if you try upping the weight a bit and dropping the reps. At least, I found that that helped me quite a bit.), and those pull-up and push-up supersets are awesome!

So today I wanted to run but couldn’t motivate. Took a spin class instead (i know, I know) and then hit my pilates fusion. This class is so mofo hard. I’m friends with the instructor, i’ll see if he’ll let me vid a min or two so you guys can see what its all about. I hadn’t gone in weeks and its incredible how quickly one can fall out of form.

Anyways, i blitzed my core this week, but it feels good. Strong like a tree trunk. I should really wait to squat so i can rest those muscles, but its either tomorrow or wait til weds…tomorrow it is!

I also love your uni colorz! Makes me miss my soccer playing days as well. Do you play indoor?

Kimba - lol! maybe not tree-trunk, but sturdy. Sturdy and delicious. I like that. But seriously, I think we’re pretty even when it comes to the pullups (you might have more on me actually!), so you’d be surprised what you can do. And anyways, I’m just doing 1 or 2 weighted reps, the rest are all BW. I’m bascially being impatient.


Just got back from a seriously long gym sesh - squats. Did triplets today. Figured I needed to work on form, getting explosive and pushing hips through. also wanted to get more confidence under the bar.

2x3x150 < 145 was by no means easy, but it felt good and I wanted to see what 150 felt like. Had trainer Vic watch my form on the last set. Said I def hit parallel (even went below!) - so I’m super happy about that. But on the last rep of set 3 I got stuck! Almost dumped the bar, but Vic came in and and spotted me.

BSS - 2x12x55, 2x12x60
S leg pop ups - 4x10xBW < HATE THESE (and I don’t hate anything)
Plank on swiss ball - 4x60s
Neutral grip pullups - 3x3 and 2 < lost steam on the last set

I wanted to do some fat-burny stuff, but I was spent. Squats wear me out!

Now I’m eating a big salad with chicken and gorganzola. And once I finish that I’m going to take a nice nap in front of the telly. Ahh…life is good.

For your bench, make sure you’re keeping your upper back tight (shoulders pulled back), and you squeeze the for-ever-living-shit out of the bar during the whole rep.
