The Beautiful Gain

Ha! I think you all are fucking nuts, you know that right?

Davey D - where you been? Actually, I’m fucking HYOOGE!

This morning was DLs. They felt good, looked fine (i think…), but resetting is becoming a problem. It took me 1.5 mins to do 5x5@170. I don’t really know how to rectify this. Anyone have ideas? I think the weight is just heavy and I need to reset to catch breath and check form, but yeesh, if I go heavier I may as well be doing sets of 1.

mobility/foam rolling/BSS

Sqaut - 5x70, 95, 105, 125
DL - 5x 105, 125, 150, 170, 150
Good mornings - 12x40, 45, 50, 55 < I have no idea what kind of weight to use on these
Weghted situps - 4x12x10lb plate < got lazy, won’t lie

So I was feeling a bit sluggish today, could be a bunch of things including the fact that i totally binged last night on sandwiches. Damn it! And I was finally getting that shit in check. Ah well. Could also be hormonal. None the less, I’m calling for a deload - i’ll pick back up in a week with these same numbers and then go from there.

Also, and sorry for the video blast lately, but can someone just tell me if this is what a good morning is supposed to look like? (God I can’t believe I’m posting this vid, I look so ridiculous! laugh away)

I’ve never done these before and I checked online but all i saw were vids of giant dudes using giant weights. From what I read you’re supposed to stick your ass out and then act like your about to kiss someone in front of you (hee hee). Also, what kind of weight am I supposed to be using?!

This weekend footie and proper eating habits.

^Didn’t pay one lick of attention to form. You have got a great ass.

Did I ever tell you that when I was 7 I “accidentally” ran over a little retriever pup with my pink Huffy bike. Bigger dog, bigger vehicle.

^AWWww than who’s going to help you with all of the peanut butter?

Hm…good point. And I do love my peanut butter. Alright doggy, you can stay.

^

Mascherano, it looked pretty good. It would be good to start out lighter, and progress from there depending on your goals. Here’s a demonstration video that mirrored what you did. Starts exercise about a minute in.

Who are you kidding Mascherano, you don’t look ridiculous.

‘I’m sticking my glutes out.’ hehe

looked pretty good to me Masch–maybe go a little slower to FEEL it…

Ps, I like that ladies physique.

Hope you feel less slumpish this weekend!

one more thing…what is the main thing you think that you are stuck on with the deadlift? Maybe you are just thinking too much into it?

For me, I just think of bending down and picking something up… once it’s off the floor, I think HIPS HIPS HIPS!! Hump THE BAR!

The GMs look pretty good actually. As for weight, i can say this. heavy GMs didn’t do ANYTHING for me except make my back sore. Numbers have moved up a ton since I dropped the weights WAY down. I think I used 135 for 3 sets of ten last time I did them and couldn’t walk right for a few days. If you don’t believe it, ask CBear. She has seen me do them.

Jason

Now if you could only do those in your sama boots I could die a happy woman  You look fine to me Masch - in form and function.

pegg skipped the part where i left the plunger in the toilet and didnt tell him.

I’d listen to this dude. Wendler has also said that he got more out of repping 225 instead of going too heavy on GMs.

Never realized that was done for me…

Jason

Yeah, Maschy. I just dropped my weight in GMs, too. I had worked up to 3 x 5 x 90 lb. but just wasn’t holding my form. I think higher reps with lighter weight is the way to go here. Your form looks A-okay to me.

Thanks for the vid Herc! That was very helpful.

And MiM, you’re right, I need to slow down - good point! And if I may say, that woman’s physique resembles a certain mom from MD…hm?

Pegg! Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, when I was doing the ex. I was wondering how this might benefit my DL. Aside from stretching out my hammies, it seemed a bit pointless. But if you say it helped get your numbers up, then maybe it’ll do the same for me.

But truthfully 50lbs didn’t seem that challenging. Maybe if I slow it down and concentrate on that whole mind-muscle connection I’ll feel it more.

Oh Claire…I wish you’d put a plunger in my toilet…sigh.

Andy, I love when you say “got more out of repping 225 instead of going too heavy”. Lol!

Hai Snap! Thanks for the input.

Went for a run this am - 6 miles over the bklyn bridge. Tried doing sprints here and there. Didn’t want to scare the locals.

Tomorrow I have a soccer tourney nearby with an all female Latin American league. Should be fun. My mom’s coming to watch, so that’s cool. What’s even better is that a) I live a mere 10 min walk from the field b) Latin American food vendors surround the field with serious authentic eats.

Can’t wait until the tourney is over so I can get my grub on - tacos, papousas, tamales…I know I said I’d behave this weekend, but c’mon!

Oh and MiM, my current issue with the DL is the resetting - basically I’m still trying to figure out how to minimize this. Since, as I just read on Kimba’s log, letting go of bar and standing up might make not a full set.

Actually, I started laughing during my DLs while I was thinking “Hump the bar, hump the bar” - HAHA! Great cue.

that soccer tourney sounds like fun! all that food. can I come?

you let go of the bar and stand up, then bend down all over again?? am I reading you right? bend down, pull back, pick up, get hips through, HUMP IT!!! bend down to set bar on floor, reset grip pull back again, pick up bar…

And that girl in the vid closely resembles how I want to look…but thanks for being nice in saying that…
