You seem to bust ass Akuma, I hope you reach all your goals, and then some.
Regarding the work thing, bust ass. I’m a 4th year Econ/Japanese double major and been busting ass hard to break into i.banking or consulting. Has definitely taken focus off the gym but it will be worth it in the long run. Shit’s no joke…
Good luck man.[/quote]
The Japanese language is sure to serve you well man. It’s still a highly valued skill in today’s economy. You may not know this but many managerial and senior professional Japanese men have a random degree but are doing important jobs outside of their scope. I’ve met candidates (I was a headhunter before, the good kind, not the bloke on this site) who had a political science major but was Technical Sales Director for a Chemical company in Japan.
Asia needs you. ![]()
Sorry to deviate from Akuma’s brilliant thread. Carry on.

And in response to “Way not feeling like hes contest rdy” statement, its total nonsense. Its going to be Way’s first competition right? Well if thats the case, then hes just like me. a Fucking confused perfectionist. Have you seen the people competing at entry level contests? i could shave, not diet down, tan, walk on stage with a gut, and win just because id be 3x the size of anyone there. We are competing against 160lb shmoes, Not Ronnie Coleman. Yet ive refused to allow myself to take that step. Ive tried to join 3 competitions, spanning over 2 years, and each time i diet down for a month, lose 30lbs, and tell myself im not ready and that next year’s the year. Well fuck that nonsense. THIS year is the year. MARCH is the deadline. THERE ARE NO OTHER COMPETITIONS. If i fail to join March’s competition, i will lose what little self respect i have left.

You’ll do it man. And you can bet many on this site will support you. You always ‘deliver’ - be it your posts, your training, your advice, so we’re certain you’ll ‘deliver’ at the competition as well. I just admire Way and you taking up this endeavor so young in life, you guys will do great.
How old are you again??

March isn’t very far away. What show will you be doing??

Well i believe it was this one http://lindsayproductions.com/2010SD.php
Its been that day for a couple years, and im hoping they simply havent updated their site for the new year’s contests yet
[edit] yea im scouting around, and i hardly see any 2011 updated shows, and none in San Diego for that matter.
Only other one im finding right now is :
July 9, 2011
The WNBF/INBF California Natural Nationals (CNN)
San Diego CA
I tell you what, imma be pissed if they DONT have the march competition next year. These fookers should know the amount of time necessary for competitors by now.
Does the huge cuddly teddy bear thing also work in real life?
I’m really interested in how you will handle thing toward your competition. Since your joining date you’ve been a real addition here! =)

I do, unfortunately its a shitty job, and the only reason im still there is because how flexible it is to my needs. I work as a server at an Olive Garden to the pay the bills (me in uniform is terrible, i look like one big solid mass lol). Ive often debated getting my training certification, but i dont want to turn into one of those dbags i see at my gym that basically get paid to keep people coming back. Bunch of non result giving parasites…

I think if you get great results the clients will throw their money at you. Just because you help someone reach and even surpass their goals does not mean the will stop or go on their own.
If you do get excellent results, most people (especially women) will continue to work with you for fear of going back to their former physique. Also, when I trained a lot of people keep coming back for the friendship and workout partner.
What I’m saying is if you think you can be successful do it. You can always find a serving job. What you don’t want to do is wonder what if 10, 20 years later. Good luck.
Well guys, im currently icing my knee. Still doesnt feel 100%, but today is leg day. Im hoping whatever the issue is can be resolved through a good long stretching/Foam rolling session i plan to do before today’s leg workout.
Its basically a…hmm i guess ‘a little tingle’ is the best way to describe it, that only occurs when im in the Hole of a squat (have tested them with bw) or fully extending and pinching my lower leg. Its basically the bottom on the knee cap, perhaps my infra-patellar tendon…

Bushidobadbiy is the resident man to talk to regarding injuries, I believe he’s quite busy over the weekend but I’m sure he’ll be able to offer some sound advice ![]()
One of the ‘real’ good guys on this forum, always willing to go that extra mile for his fellow T-Nationers.
If everyone had the positive attitude / demeanour you possess when addressing others on this forum this place would be far better off!
& Kudos to you for publicly proclaiming your intention to compete and best of luck in your preparations for March!
Akuma, I don’t know if its out of line to ask a question here, especially considering I’m not much of a contributor to these forums, but I really believe you are one of the most knowledgable guys on here, especially when it comes to higher volume training.
I currently train my chest with flat dumbell press, incline smith press and dumbell flyes, all ramped to 1-2 top sets at 6-10 reps. I’m looking to up my volume, would you recommend I add more exercises (I’m not really sure exactly where I could go in this direction), or add more work sets with these exercises. Thanks a bunch.

Hahah well i dont know about one of the most knowledge, but sure ill see if i can help-
Remember, you’re talking to King Overtrain here, im a huge fan of Volume: Now when you say Ramped up to 1-2 top sets, how many sets are you using for the ramping portion? If you are doing 1 lead in set into 2 max weight sets, id say yes you definitely need more sets of ramping. Generally speaking, a lot of beginner - moderate lifters like to bump as heavy as they can quick and early, usually sacrificing form/Rom. If you want to Pyramid, do it right, 4 or 5 sets, maybe decreasing reps from 15 to 12, to 10, to 8, to 6, increasing the weight each set. Starting out lighter usually allows people to end heavier AND use better form if they are working the movement properly.
Now personally, id throw in one more exercise too. Dips is a great exercise for developing the pec, if you can learn how to properly remove your tri from the movement and keep the brunt of the work in your pecs.
I would just like to pop in and give my respect to you. That’s all! Good luck with your contest prep!
Lol thanks guys. I appreciate all the kind words. Still waiting for someone to come in and sour things up tho…it just doesnt feel right with all this sunshine and rainbows, 'na mean?
