T-Nation,
I just wanted to take minute to offer a sincere “Thank You” to the folks who make this website such a valuable resource to me. That includes everyone that makes positive contributions but especially the guys who right the articles and the experienced vets who take the time to share their knowledge.
If any of you contributors ever read this please know that for every one of those “I already knew that” messages you sometimes get (I think Berardi started a thread on this)there are many of us who did not “already know that.” Keep the GREAT articles coming.
A little background if anyone cares. If not, I don’t blame you, life is busy.
I found T-Nation about 2 months ago by accident. Thank goodness for serendipity!
I’m not telling anyone here something they don’t already know but what a treasure trove of information. As my screen name implies I am new to training. Sure I’ve screwed around in the gym before. Even lifted hard in my own ignorant way. But never had the knowledge or lifestyle to support really significant gains.
The last 2-3 months of lurking and reading piles of information here have given me the knowledge to turn the corner so to speak. The crazy thing is…I think I’ve barely begun to scratch the surface. The new information I continue to discover on this site seems to never end!!!
You guys and gals should be proud of yourselves. Since reading T-Nation I’ve set some important goals that I think most of you would endorse.
I decided to:
1)Get significantly stronger and live a healthier lifestyle. I have some specific personal bests to try to attain but no need to share them until I succeed. Plus, they certainly wouldn’t impress anyone around here
2)try to increase BW from 200 lbs. to 225 lbs. by the end of the year. I’ve already put on 15 of those lbs. since I started reading T-Nation. I love to eat, so its not that difficult for me so far. Probably need to clean up my diet a little but I’m working on that too.

gain proficiency in the big multi-joint exercises. After reading so much about them here, it’s hard to believe I never really used them much. What a dumbass.

I picked a program to start with (TBT-Thanks CW) and have enjoyed every minute of it. If anyone is interested I will post any gains in a couple of months.
Yes, I know, a big round of applause, the ignorant newbie just learned at 32 years old what we’ve been telling people for years. Ha-better late than never I guess.
In my lifetime only (2) other forums have ever caught my attention and they were work related and dealt with homebuilding. (My wife and I just finished building a new home-I finally have time to dedicate to the gym and I am excited).
Again, you guys friggin rock and should be proud and Thank You again for creating such an incredible site.
