Glad to see this topic come about. I’m a 30 year old getting back into the iron game after a long lay-off initiated by a torn lat. I have 3 beautiful girls and a son on the way (July 12 due date).
Like most of us, I work too hard for too little, don’t get as much sleep as I should, and don’t always watch what I eat or drink (damn the beer and hot wings!). I am currently trying out a program outlined in Christian Thibaudeau’s new book and I am looking forward to discussing new ideas on strength conditioning with the rest of you.
So far, I like this board. It is more information-oriented versus some of the other boards and the young people here are serious about lifting instead of talking about how big their dicks are. Long live T-Nation!
Oh, and I’m totally entranced by the Dark Tower too. Anyone that likes anything Clint Eastwood-esque or reminiscent of King’s The Talisman needs to read this series.
Holy Crap fishdog, you are over a foot taller than me… but we are the same height if I can put my penis on my head
I couldn’t contain myself… somebody had to mention their member after that.
26 years old and have lived in MI all my life. Been lifting since I was 16 but only got serious about in the past 3 years. Right now I weigh around 190 and stand in at 5 foot 10 inches. I would hazard a guess of about 12% body fat (can see the 6 pack forming but not quite ripped). I was blond haired and blue eyed but after seeing the “The Beast Evolves” I sort of lost the hair and decided to shave it. Plus, 4 tattoos and a nipple piercing.
I work in banking as a credit analyst. I know…I am kind of the Anti-Banker.
I’m Al, from Nova Scotia, Canada. Transplanted to Calgary.
Age 21, 6’2", around 320. 8 years Highland Games participant, 3 years strongman. 4 years Aikido, and some side trips into TKD and Muai Thai. Been playing softball since I was 4, used to be pretty good at that too…
Just finished my BSc in Human Kinetics, Minor in Health Sciences (pre med program) in May, will be attending school to become an Athletic Therapist in the fall. Like the idea of being forever involved in sports.
I’ve been at T-Mag for around 3 years. Recently reviewed the Skinny Bastard’s Diet for a nutrition course, a total curveball after all the Zone and South Beach Presentations.
I’m a big fan of Chad Waterbury’s work. Mix up most of my lifting to be throwing-specific. Haven’t lifted in 2 month, but I’ve been getting lots of reps as an Erection Speicalist ( I’m putting up tents for the summer).
Bench 325 lbs (3 sets of 5)
Squat 350 lbs (3 sets of 5…just bought a squat rack so that should keep increasing)
Deadlift I give in…I hate them…I do other motions for the hams…But when I did do them, I got up to about 300 lbs for 5 reps
Pull ups 50 lbs on a belt - 3 sets of 8
Dips 125 lbs on a belt - 3 sets of 8
At interesting info about me: I’ve been training for 6 years (max productivity the last 4), been reading t-mag for a year, major in broadcast journalism with an emphasis on sports journalism and a minor in kinesiology.
DUDE!!! popasquat, what hs did you go to? Just don’t say Jesuit or it’s on!!! : )
My name is Paul. I’m 6’2", 190 lbs. I lift mainly for strength, but work on looking good too. I’m 26, and I’ve been lifting for 12 years. I have done both power lifting and bodybuilding.
I’m a communications officer in the Air Force stationed at Tinker AFB, OK with the 3d Combat Communications Group. Currently, I am deployed to Iraq, but should be home in the next month. When I get back, I will be moving again to attend Air Force pilot training. I am originally from Lakeway, Texas, which is just outside of Austin.
I’ve been married to my beutiful wife for 3 years, and currently have no kids except for my two dogs.
Well, why not. I’ve been lurking and reading T-Mag since Poliquin wrote every week. I am an ancient 22 years old, a grad student studying cognitive psychology/neuroscience and hoping for doctoral admission next year (fingers crossed!). 6’1, +- 200lbs, body fat negligible. Been lifting since high school, when I knew absolutely nothing and once bought a copy of Muscle and Fitness. Now I train a few people, mainly boxers looking for strength/power increases.
I am also one of unfortunate people who collects hobbies like nerds collect game consoles - my apartment is a mess of books, papers, single malt bottles and odd-looking exercise equipment.
Well, I’m glad I ran into this article. My name’s Faisal and I’ve been lifting for 8 years now. Competed in powerlifting for 3 years but then moved into bodybuilding. I’m 28 years old and I think that it’s great to be able to communicate with people through this portal.
I am a 21 year old college student at Texas State University in San marcos TX. I have been seriously lifting for about 3 years, and have had some great improvements. Everyone has there vice and it seems that mine is pumping in the gym.
Hello all. I am 34 years old and I am a Camp Director for the YMCA in Minnesota. I am married and have one awesome little boy of 4 years old. He turns 5 in July. Living off of camp food for the past 7 years has taken its toll on my body so I have recently started to workout seriously. I have gone from 241 pounds to 220 pounds since Feb. My goal is to be able to keep up with all of the 10 year old campers! Go camping!!!
I’ve been lurking around here for about a year now, so I suppose I should introduce myself. I’m 25 and, as you can tell from the screen name, I’m from Columbus, OH. (OSU class of 2001.) However, I’m currently stuck in the middle of a cornfield in central IL, where I’m getting my PhD in engineering psychology at the University of Illinois.
Got into lifting about 4 years ago, and really got serious about it 2 years ago. Competed in my first bodybuilding show last Nov., and am hoping to do another one this fall. My main goal is to get my upper body bigger- I only put the legs in my avatar because my arms looked kinda puny then. :o)
Names Ray, I’m 41, 5’9" 195 Lbs. I have been lifting on and off about fifteen years, mainly to try and stay fit.
I live on a lake in southeast Michigan, so I do a lot of watersports also.
I have been married 10 years to a T-vixen (although she doesn’t know she’s one) and have 2 wild daughters ages 6-1/2 and 5.
This is a great site with alot of intelligent people ( I just wish I could stop myself from reading the political post’s, but it’s like a car crash I can’t help it.

I went to Brother Martin. All jesuit boys are sissys.
Whats going on. I’m Jordan, I just graduated from Highschool. I intend to attend the Fire Academy and then to Paramedic school to get my Paramedic license. I’m 5’11" weighing in at about 265#. I played football, was a two way starter for 4 years on the varisty team, lettered all 4. I also competed in alot of weight lifted tourneys. Big in track too, I throw all 5 events, Weight, Hammer, Javelin, Discus, and Shot. Thats about it on me.
I am Vegita the Prince of all Sayajins! My Avatar is my pic, as you can tell I’m a Bad-ass!
OK really, Matt, from upstate NY (technically Central NY but the bastards in the city refer to everything else as “Upstate”). 24yrs old 5’11" 168lbs (down from 183 over winter) 12% +/- Lift generally only over the winter and golf 6 days a week over the spring/summer/fall. Train basically for explosive power and a little size. Major life goal is to become a PGA tour player, Other than that I wish to at least end up working in the golf industry. I have a 3.5 yr old daughter who acts like she is 15 and a dog who is my best friend/second child.
Some days I wish I was huge and could kick ass all over the place. For instance, there were some rowdy guys at the bar I frequent and the owner and bouncer were throwing them out when one of the guys started wrestling with the bouncer. The other 3 guys were standing over the wrestling match waiting to nail anyone that came near. I was standing there wanting to help the kid out who happend to be in a nasty headlock but ended up being a chicken shit and not doing anything to help out. The only problem is that being a big badass isn’t conducive to being a good golfer so I guess I’ll have to carry a club with me or something
