Tell Us a Little about Yourself

Well I’m Jim, and am a 23 year old guy. I’m 6’1" 215 pounds, lots of muscle, but bf% is a bit high too, but I’m working on that! :). I’ve been lifting 3.5 years now, though quite a bit less than that properly. I guess you could say my primary reason for lifting is to look good naked (though I do it for me, the fact many women like it is just icing on the cake). I’m looking to get pretty huge.

I just finished my first year of law school this may at William and Mary, and now am interning with a judge.

I’m currently single, but not looking for now - I’m working on some spiritual issues over the summer (I’m the Christian type  ).

Dammit, sups, you beat me to it! But that’s OK, cause I’m on several 12-step programs, and I like ME.

Cool thread. I’ve wanted to get to know my fellow T-people better and hope more people respond. I’ve been training almost 12 years (longer if you count the days when I was a completely brain-dead, ignorant gym dork), and after discovering T-Mag have rekindled a passion for it that I haven’t had in years. I train to stay healthy and of course to look good nekkid for that one with whom I will spend my life (Diana Krall, I’m still waiting for you to dump Elvis Costello. Let’s go, huh?).

I’ve been a musician (percussionist, specifically) for most of my life. I have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music and am trained both classically and in jazz. As to whether I’m really a geek is entirely subjective and will be left up to you. Just be so kind as to keep it to yourself :). My musical training has transitioned nicely into a career in financial analysis and banking.

P.S. This thread gives me an idea. How about in the future we have a gathering of T-people, maybe in Colorado, where Biotest is located? I think that would be way cool!

I’m a 55 year old professional pilot. I stand 5’8" and weigh 171 pounds. I lift 3 to 4 days a week and walk 2 miles or so on my off days. I enjoy reading and working on cars. Also, I am a Jeopardy wannabe.

What up Nation of Testosterone-ization! HAHA

Anyway, I’m 20, goin into my last year at Penn State, from Nawlins La, 5’11" about 242 and gaining fast. Been training for almost 5 years. Just benched 370 today and squat 650.

aight, you whiny bastards, i’ll come out of shell and actually post something

i’ve been reading t-mag for about 3 years although i don’t recall posting anything until the past few weeks

as far as the vitals go…i’m 6’4", 225 lbs at around 10% body fat, 22 years old…a little out of proportion due to repeated leg injuries (i can bench 315 but i can only squat 250)

i just graduated from colgate and i’m totally unemployed, which sucks, but it gives me time to work out and write some poetry, etc, while i figure out what i should do next (yeah, that’s right, poetry CAN be manly…although it usually isn’t)

i’m from the filthy, dirty south, and i love it. that’s about it, really…

Hi, I’m Jillie. I’m 27, 5’3, around 125 and I get paid to rub people for a living.

Ok, I don’t mean to sully my career. I am a massage therapist. I graduated from WVU w/ an advertising degree, was a recruiter for a few years and decided sitting on my ass behind a desk gazing at a computer screen/talking on the phone, breathing recycled air and never seeing sunlight except thru a tinted office window all day was not what I wanted to do with my life. Now I spend my time in an ocean-themed room helping people relax and feel good.

Aside from my job, which is not my life, I like to lift, cook, do the outdoorsy thing, and occasionally hit the bars.

I’ve been exercising since high school, and lifting since college. Back in the day I didn’t know any better and thought thin was all that mattered so I was a sickly 98# weakling. After college I learned a little something about nutrition and how to actually lift properly so my focus changed (and thank god for that!).

Now I crave the gym. I get off on the fact that I do deadlifts with barbells and squats and good mornings and outlift some of the men in my gym. I’m no beefcake, but I think I have the genetics of a bodybuilder more than a fitness competitor. Most of the time I go to the gym just to challenge myself and see if I can lift more than the last time. As of late, I’m actually trying to structure my program for results—lose fat, gain strength.

Have I talked enough? Someday I’ll have the courage to post some pics.

I know there are more ladies out there… hello? T-vixens? I want to hear your stories!

Hello everyone!
I’m 19, 5’3, 127 and around 20% body fat working toward about 15%. (Once I’m there, I’ll decide if I’m happy or not yet). I just started getting into the gym about a year ago, and I just started changing my eating habits about 4 months ago. When I first got into the gym I resumed eating whatever my heart desired, and since I’m from the south, foods like cornbread, chicken and dumplings and peach cobbler were all on the top of the list. When I started lifting initially, I just wanted to firm up and keep that “freshman 15” off. I was around 120 then. About 8 months later I was at 138 but I didn’t look bad at all and I certainly felt firm. But then I decided I’d shed some fat, which meant changing my diet. With the help of my boyfriend (who is fascinated with nutrition and T-mag) I’ve seen results. I shed some fat, and as of the last 8 weeks I went on a really tough diet and I saw DEFINATE results. Unfortunately with those results my boobs slowly started going bye bye. :frowning: Since I wish to continue loosing fat and maintain muscle, I will be getting a boob job because I like the athletic curvy body type. I have the hips/butt, I use to have the boobs and now I’m getting the athletic part slowly but surely. (And it appears as if 6-12 months from now my boobs will be back thanks to ?the boob fairies of Atlanta).

I am currently in college getting my undergrad out of the way, but in 2007 I plan on going to Emory University in Atlanta for medical school. I’d like to be a P.A. for a cardiologist because the heart fascinates me. As dorky as it sounds, I’ve called my boyfriend up and told him everything about the heart as if he cared. Luckily, he understands my passion and he listens. I use to want to be something related to medicine and sports because I am equally enthralled by baseball. However, I’ve decided I would have a lot more opportunities in cardiology and make more money out of it. Granted, money isn’t everything but it can make life easier sometimes and I am certainly not afraid to work for it. Since school and studying takes up most of my time, the remainder of it is spent working, lifting weights, or with my man on the weekends.

As far as life in general, I believe in never settling for second best in anything. I am a very determined and dedicated person in my passions and what I have chosen to pursue. And for all of you guys out there?I’ve noticed ya’ll like to hear the opinions from females about relationships?so my advice would be: Don’t stop looking for the girl with integrity with diplomacy.A girl who kindly speaks her mind, straightforward, and says what she means. (Too much feminine mystique can be a mistake). Someone who thinks for herself and is not clingy. A girl who fosters intelligent opinions and has confidence and poise while allowing herself to be ?bad? sometimes and a girl who is a good driver, cook and eater. And trust me, I?m certainly not trying to tell any of you guys out there who to date?but rather I’m giving hope to those who want this type of girl. Yes, she is out there.

Great thread .

I’m David . I’m 18 yrs old (6ft tall , 150 pounds , skinny bastard)and a total newbie to lifting . I graduated from high school a year ago and am currently looking for some more job opportunities to earn enough for me to pay my training as airline transport pilot .
I’m currently teaching computers at a local city centre and enjoying that .

I’m currently waiting for the right time to get an Olympic Set , 'cause I have gotten some pretty weard looks from my mom who thinks I’m an Arnold-wannabe . A bit of hypertrophy and a huge load of strength , that’s my goal (ABBH here I come).

i think u should start checking out the profiles…

My name is Geoff. I live in Marietta, Ohio. I just finished a 5-year stint in the Marine Corps. I have a B.A. in Criminal Justice and am testing for the local fire department shortly. I’ve been lifting for about 16 years (I’m 34). Stats are 5’10", 180lb, 13%BF. I was getting pretty burnt out on the whole weight game recently and decided to try an experiment by using only bodyweight exercises for upper and lower body (plus sprints twice a week). To my surprise I’ve gained 2-3lbs, and my wife (a munchkin-sized T-Vixen) says she can’t believe how I’ve “filled out” in only 6 weeks. I guess it never hurts to throw caution to the wind and do something crazy once in a while.

I am a tall guy standing at a huge 5’7" on a 170lb frame. I’ve been lifting for quite a long-time, since high school and I’m 24 now. Of course in high-school, you don’t always know what you’re doing so I"m not a monster or anything.

I"ve been wrestling since I could walk. I wrestled all through high school and into college and gave it up. Graduated from the University of wisconsin - Stevens Point with degrees in Business and Computer Information Systems. I am working on my MBA at the University of Eau Claire, and I will move on for my PHD from the Univeristy of chicago.

I eat poop

Just getting your attention…

I am an 18 yr old college student at the University of Southern California. I am a Kinesiology major with minor in Business. It’s a pre-med track so we’ll see where that takes me. I am in the wrestling club- unfortunately they do not have a team. This coming fall semester I will make the track team.

I have been lifting on an off since I was around 15-16…and even then I was limited to 10lb dumbbells. I had been reading this site all along though but never had been able to put the knowledge to use until late 16.

I’ve done several years of gymnastics, was an amateur prospect boxer at 14, somehow lost interest in it, found freestyle wrestling, lost interest in that (regained it recently), stumbled upon Brazillian Jiujitsu and Muay Thai… Never looked back.

Le Parkour is my main hobby (as far as ‘hobbies’ go), and I stickfight at the “gatherings” irregularly (Dog Brothers).

5’9
165lbs (Heaviest was 173)

Bench: 245 (3 rep max)
Squat: 315 (3 rep)
Pull: 275 (3 rep)
Most consecutive pullups: 42
Weighted Pullup: 90 additional lbs

Goals: Pro MMA, Amateur Boxing, go to every ‘gathering’, be a contributor to t-mag/nation, have my own training center like DeFranco.

Other than that I’m your run of the mill horny ass 18 yr old.

I’m randman. A little purple dinosaur about 1" high that loves to slap ass while doin the pony. Slappin that ass, slapping that ass…

Thanks for the gratuitous Tila Nguyen pic Xen

Well now, we seem to have a very diverse group of folks. I am 44 years young, 5’9", 225, ???% body fat, married for 23 years, 1 daughter, 1 son, and 1 beautiful wide open, non stop 3 year old granddaughter. I am a funeral director who loves his job, a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, been lifting for about 3 years, bench 255, squat 325, beadlift 325. really enjoy T-Nation. lots of info and colorful people.

Sounds Good Jah! We certainly do have a variety of T-Nation Users.

One more pic for the road.

Name’s Jon, 20 year old guy living in the tiny town of Tremont, Illinois. Currently a pre-med student at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. I work landscaping during the summer so I can have some spending money during the school year.

Hobbies: reading (I’m totally ensnared by Steven King’s Dark Tower series right now); water sports (skiing, tubing, and recenty wakeboarding); computer gaming (I’m sure I’m not the only gaming freak on this forum); fencing (who doesn’t enjoy stabbing people with swords?)

Stats: 6 foot 7 inches (you read that right); 273 lbs at about 23% body fat (I’m currently cutting, we’ll see what happens); I’m pretty big in the upper body department, but the wheels are lacking (recurring low back injury from highschool football makes it hard to squat much…not to mention getting myself to parallel is nigh impossible); been lifting ever since 8th grade (first to get strong for football, now to make my muscles fit my ridiculously tall frame); I have no idea what my maxes are for any lifts (mainly b/c i’m lifting for looks more than strength), however I was doing a bit over 300 in bench and incline during my senior year of high school.

I am 21 years old, 6’ 242 around 10% bf. I currently attend the University of South Florida majoring in biochemistry where I will graduate next year and hopefully head off to medical school to become a dermatologist.

I play football; I’m primarily a blocking fullback and a wedgebuster on special teams. Unfortunately, our offense is more of a run-and-shoot so I don’t get to see the field until we get near the goalline or on 3rd and short. I am training to either be drafted or walk-on for the Bucs or the Dolphins.

I was a former fatty in high school where, as a freshman, I was 5’9" 307 at probably 60 some odd percent bodyfat. I like to think that I have adopted the T-Man attitude and have a permanently lit fire under my ass for the rest of my life after going through all the hardships of being morbidly obese.

As far as numbers are concerned my current 1RM are: bench press-455, squat-700 (give or take 50lbs), power clean-365, deadlift-700 (give or take 50lbs).
I hope everyone posts a little something about themselves…T-M@tt
