All right, RJ: stop screwing around and post a picture of yourself. I don’t know how you got a half-shaved Wookiee in Bumfuck, Texas, but we’d al appreciate some honesty…

Seriously, though: give up on the DoggCrap?

I was all hot to start DC when I thought I was getting some cool new equipment. Then I ran out of money. No new equipment = No DC. Then I opened my big fat mouth here, and kinda had to put up or shut up.

But no worries.

Well - here are my before pics. They were taken at about 5:30 this morning. I hate taking pictures - especially in the morning.

And yes - my back IS that hairy.

I will be doing Chad Waterbury’s “Bodybuilding’s Next Frontier” program. I started yesterday, and

Anyhow - that scale said I was 236 this morning - but that was before I took my morning pee. [/quote]

rainjack, i didn’t bother reading the whole thread but I have to say it’s easy to see that you’ve lifted some serious iron in the past. I’m sure you’re bigger than 90% of the members on here anyway.

props to both of you for posting pics!!

Rainjack,

How long have you been taking anabolics? Just curious, I was expecting you to be a monster. I’ve always been curious what steroids actually do for a person. I have no experience with them at all as I have been able to do real well without them.

Please keep this thread updated with your progress. I would like to do Chads Bodybuilding’s Next Frontier soon. I have made great gains on Chads programs. I tried HSS-100 but went back to TBT with two booster shots. Immediate improvement.

Last summer I did my first cycle and made incredible gains. By incredible - I am talking about 30lbs + of LBM gain over the course of 12 weeks.

People seem to think that just because you shoot up - you will be huge. I know from experience that if you don’t train, and don’t eat - the juice will not do anything. The effort and the discipline have to be there to see the big gains.

I know several folks that are on year 'round and they look no more impressive than a guy that just trains hard.

Look at Anthony Roberts. The guy is the poster boy for “juice monkey” and he hardly has what one would consider an impressive physique size-wise.

Anyhow - I don’t want to turn this thread into an AAS discussion.

I am through 2 days of The new frontier - and it is hard. Harder than TBT.

Thanks Rainjack!

I always wondered about Roberts. Never was that impressed. I’ve attained way more results being natural. Enough on this though.

I’m really interested in following someone from start to finish on new frontier. The way I have arranged my TBT program is really hard. For instance Monday was Deads, push press, front squats, DB press, close grip bench, and barbell curls. Instead of 4x5 I did 5x5. I love TBT but felt like I needed more so I added two booster workouts. My next step will be NF.

I have done 2 cycles in my lifting career. One cycle about 10 years ago and one about 12 years ago.

Once I get back into shape I just may do another cycle.

The gains came tremendously fast. I made a notable difference every week. One big difference I noticed when on gear was I never needed a spot. There was no fatigue. If I got to failure on a bench press set, I simply thought about it and forced the weight up.

Cook, This is the sort of mental toughness we all could benefit from. Are you able to descibe your mental state when you do this? The mind will often determine making a lift or missing. How do you “push through” the mental barrier. Anything you can think to mention might help someone here.

I read about a guy who did feats of strength, like pushing nails through boards with his bare hands. He said that when he reached the point where most guys would quit(because of the pain) he’d focus his mind and keep going. He said he wasn’t necessarily “stronger” than most people.

Try reading it again, I think he credits it to steroids. At least, he specifically mentioned he was able to do this while on steroids, which makes me think he can’t do it, at least not all the time, when he’s not on.

That is correct. It was a side effect of the steroids. Testosterone Cypionate to be precise.

I do something similar when not juicing, but it is nowhere near as effective. Without the juice, I can get a bar stuck on me, with the juice it was impossible to get the bar stuck on me.

State of mind opens the door to a topic all its own. I am a firm believer in Zen state of mind, and I try to incorporate it in my lifting, but it is different from juicing and getting a bar off my chest.

Week 11 and the gains keep coming. I continue to get stronger and leaner. I’m training hard and eating good.

The gains were slow a few weeks ago since I was trying to follow what I thought Chad W.'s advice was in not going to failure. I was wrong, went back to training to failure, in then some, and the gains picked back up.

I try to eat plenty of protein and take BCAA’s to aid in recovery.

I have found tweaking the program to be a must. If my gains slow, I change it. If I try something and gains slow, go back to what was working better, if something works better, take it.

I felt my legs were lagging so I dropped my squat weight and went ATG last week. Also picked up the tempo leaping out of the squat, and going right back down after full standing. I am ashamed to say I just began deadlifting and love it. The combination of adding deadlift and tweaking my squats seems to have made a difference.

Peace.

Yo Rainjack,

Hows the training/program going? We don’t have much time. Have you made any significant gains?

I know it has not been but like 2 weeks, but considering we have only a few weeks to go, and the cycle your on, I was wondering what kind of progress, if any, you have made.

Sometimes (normally when when I have a pump going) I feel like I am making above average gains, then other times I feel I am making average gains. Oh well, putting on muscle I had before is still better than putting on muscle I never had before.

I got sick right after the first week and lost 14 pounds - So I have been trying to play catch up.

The main part of the program I am on (CW’s "the Next Frontier) is 2X per day training. I completed the first week of that yesterday. It is tough. I am supposed to be trying to shed some fat, but I find myself eating everything I can get my hands on this week. Part of that is due to me being sick, and trying to recover from that - but the program is so intense that you have to eat more just to recover.

I have no numbers to throw out other than to say I am back up into the 230’s from being as low as 220.

I have found that there is not a lot of warm up time with the total body training style. By that I mean to say that I like haing a squat day where I can focus on the one lift and work my way up in weght gradually.

I was squatting over 400 for reps - but now I am down to the 330 - 350 range. My legs are respondning - but my pride is hurting from having to lower the weight to get through the work out.

Anyhow - there are less than 6 weeks left unil my family and I load up on the plane and head to Mexico. I think I will be ready for a cheat week/rest week by then.

That sucks man. I hate getting sick and not being able to workout. Especially when I have some form of motivation going on.

Historically I have always been a pretty lean person. I am now down to 190 pounds and been staying there. While I still carry a bit of fat on me, I’m not gonna try to drop down any further until I gain some more mass.

My squat is probably my weakest exercise. I don’t know what it is, but I seem to have the hardest time with that exercise. I have always had trouble putting mass on my legs. Squatting 400 reps is double what I am doing for reps

Thought I would post an update. Not that you can see much, but there it is.

That is awesome, you have really improved.

Haven’t seen an update for a while. About six weeks left. How close are you to achieving this goal?

What a coincidence, I was just about to post a few pics. I’m weighing about 200 pounds now. here is a few pics took this evening, no pump.

Thanks for the positive feedback Trandahl.

relaxed.

T-Bone2, Nice to know someone was watching :).

I use mostly TBT using power and olympic style lifting. I have been training for a month now for strongman and have gained 10 lbs so far. So in one month I have gone from 200 lbs to 210 lbs. My main supplements are multi-vitamins, fish oils and a least a gallon of milk a day. So 20 lbs in six months seems reasonable.

Good luck and I will be watching this thread.
