So I’m six weeks into a three month long trip to Taiwan. I came here for a journalism job. Things are going ok except I miss the gym so much that I lie awake at night sweating and pining for a squat rack. The food here is mostly fried in heavy oil and fresh vegetables are hard to come by. I went to GNC (the only health food store that carries protein powder) and they were selling the GNC house brand of whey for $130 per container! Gym memberships are over $100 per month plus initiation. These gyms are a joke-two hundred cardio machines and a few weights. Luckily I had the forsight to bring a chinup bar with me from home.
So t-maggers, here is the moral: we’re lucky to have access to such great facilities and supplements at home. Next time you feel like skipping a workout, think of me. I’m doing pullups, pushups and sissy squats in 100 degree heat. What I wouldn’t give for my gym back at home. On a more positive note I’ve been getting alot of gigs as an actor and model. A little muscle goes a long way here.
