Hey guys - I’m headed to Taipei for a year to teach English, and was wondering if any of you have spent time in Taiwan or lived/live there and could let me know about supplements and gyms there.
I think I’m bringing a suitcase full of Greens, Salmon Oil, and Creatine (along with multis), because from what I’ve researched all of those supps are expensive as hell.
Also, if any of you are from Taipei, any decent gyms you could recommend would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve not been to Taiwan in the a few years but do pack as much supplements as you can- as long as you can clear customs. I know it’ll be hard to find anything of the same quality for the same price in Taiwan.
Finally, California Fitness, which is the international version of 24 Hour fitness has a few branches in Taiwan. Go to 24 hour fitness website and click on international locations and you should see them.
Hi
I have been in Taiwan for a good few years. Yes bring as many supplements as you can cause they are exp, and most imported from the USA and marked up horribly. As for gear, you can buy OTC,and locally manufactured are really cheap, good quality-although a limited choice.
I could give you examples, but rather PM< me.California and Alexanders are the glamour gyms, and well maintained.
I can’t help you with your question, but what a great selection of fruits and vegtables. Where else can you get asparagus juice in a juice box and sea food on your pizza.
Enjoy your time there.
I lived in Taiwan for four years and, as the other posters have mentioned, supplements are expensive, though can be ordered, just order a few months worth to save the shipping. Protein powder, however, is available in bulk, unflavoured, format for 420NTD for 1 kilo, which isn’t too bad. The place is on Zhong Shan N rd, section 6, #685 I think, on the 6fl. Anyway, it’s in the building next to the Land Bank.
As for gyms, there is a Gold’s Gym as well, and a small chain called Taipei Gym, which is a gym, not a fitness club like California. Have fun in Taipei, it’s a pretty cool city.

Maybe it’s just me but if gear is OTC fuck supplements. Creatine or test - you decide = no contest.
