Wow, she likes T-injected music too! (And that is her ass). Gotta’ rub out that H-word fellow ASAP . . . I’m on it.

Vulgar Display of Power is a damn good album.

And a couple of the tracks off Metallica’s Garage Inc. album are damn good (like Die, Die My Darling and Astronomy).

Metallic
Ramstein
Deadlights

Matrix Soundtrack

Being a musician I love way too much music to list…but right now for this moment I’m a HUGE Cradle of Filth fan…Anyone else?

I bought an album by Dream Theater once. I forget the title, but it had something to do with seasons. Change of Seasons? Something like that. I didn’t care for it much, but I know they’re supposed to be very progressive. I just found it lacking in drive and intensity. I try to be open-minded, but it just didn’t do it for me. Any suggestions on a good album of theirs to pick up? [/quote]

Dream Theater’s ā€œTrain of Thoughtā€ has drive and intensity. Probably their most ā€œMetalā€ album.

Some of my favorite Metal Albums(that I didn’t see mentioned)?

Dream Theater - Scenes From a Memory
At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul
Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse
Sevendust - Sevendust
White Zombie - La Sexorcisto, Devil Music Vol. 1

not sure if anyone mentioned these guys, but lately i’ve been groovin to children of bodom, shadows fall, (early) cradle of filth, and opeth. my old standby is always iron maiden, though.

Pat Boone

In a Metal Mood: No More Mr. Nice Guy

Honorable mentiions

  1. Ministry
  2. Misfits
  3. Not metal but Nine inch nails the first album 'head like a hole" ??

Iron Maiden - anything prior to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (Powerslave was their last really good album).

Black Sabbath - all.

These are 2 of my favorite bands of all time. I was fortunate enough to see them both at this year’s Ozzfest (along with Mudvayne, Black Label Society, Shadows Fall, Rob Zombie …)

Demon Hunter, Extol, Living Sacrifice…

You where in the bad part of town.

Come on none of you listen to Mercyful fate or King Diamond…Thats Blapsphemous, Im just joking. But I strongly urge anyone to pick up Mercyful fates ā€œDon’t Break the Oathā€ or ā€œMelissaā€

Any Savatage or Annihilator Fans out there???

I too love Testament, but you’ve missed my other favourites:

Nuclear Assault: Game Over, The Plague, Handle With Care, Survive.

Sepultura: Chaos AD, Roots, Beneath the Remains.

Flotsam And Jetsam: No Place for Disgrace, Doomsday for the Deceiver.

Metal Church: Metal Church, The Dark, Blessings In Disguise.

Mortal Sin: Mayhemic Destruction.

Stormtroopers of Death (SOD): Speak English or Die.

Death Angel: Ultra-Violence.

Can’t beat metal like that, makes everything made in the last 10 years seem decidedly lame.

Hey you forgot Exodus and Kreator

There are too many to name. And they’ve all been listed above.

Anything by Meshuggah is great. Their Catch-33 album is my favorite to lift to, and Chaosphere is good all the time. Cannibal Corpse is fun, as is Fear Factory. If it is heavy and makes children cry, I like it.

i do 80% of my workouts to Metallica’s Garage Inc., esp. disc 2 - all tracks are insane.

How about Blood Feast-The Chopping Block Blues (very rare)

also…
Avenged Seven Fold
Nevermore
Jungle Rot
Deicide
Vital Remains
Enforsaken
Sentenced (only the old stuff)
Tiamat (only the old stuff)
Vengence Rising (old stuff) (very rare)

Jeff Waters (Annihilator) is very talented!

I’ll throw in one recommendation. This isn’t a ā€œbest of all timeā€ CD, but it’s a recent CD that really kicks ass. I’ve been listening to it constantly for the past few months. My pick for a kick-ass, newly released metal CD?

Corrosion of Conformity
ā€œIn the Arms of Godā€

I especially dig the title track. I recommend all metal fans give the title track a listen (although, it’s all good).
