All the Iron Maiden you can rock to.

Rammstein

Metallica

Even classical, even though that is not metal. The theme from Gladiator can put you in a very medevil type of mood.

Some my favs…
Metallica, Maiden, Megadeth, Pantera, Anthrax, Suicidal, System of a Down, Disturbed and others that I can’t think of off the top of my head.

Tell me thats your own ass as your avatar.

Metallica: Kill 'em All

Seriously… If you don’t own all 4 system of a down albums GO AND GET THEM NOOOOOWWWW!!!

With the exception of the first one (Self titled) they are THE BEST music albums i own. They rock harder than anything out there and they are very musically style as well, not just yelling into a microphone…WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???

Yes, that would be my own ass.

Norweige-

Then you may not like much of Dream Theater’s stuff. They are very progressive, but every single one of them is a bona fide virtuoso. If anything can change your mind, “Once In A Livetime” will. Double live disc with the single most amazing guitar solo I’ve ever heard.

Maiden all the way baby!

boingogirl1 I think I love you :). Your top 3 bands are all on my “Metal-Gods-that-everyone-should-listen-to-at-least-once-Especially-if-you-think-you-hate-metal” list. Three of the most amazing rock bands of all time.

Pantera-Cowboys From Hell

some other crazy power/melodic metal

Twilightning
Camelot
Iron Savior
Lacuna Coil
Nightwish
Sonata Arctica

And another heavy one:

Iced Earth–Night of the Stormrider.

If there is such a thing as driving music, this album defines it. Breaks all known speed limits.

Now, all these will change by tomorrow. I never bother making favorite lists b/c my lists always change, barring a few ever present standards.

Metallica: every damn one, esp. Garage
Inc. disc #2
Megadeth: Rust in Peace
Iron Maiden: Number of the Beast
Pantera: Vulgar Display of Power

Shit, there too many to list

Whoa! I saw someone said Down, “Nola”. Awesome choice!

Metallica anything Prior to and Justice for all. The justice album is listenable but the black albumk and beyond are SH%T. IMO Cant beat Kill em All, Puppets, and Ride the Lightening. Also the single albums of Fight Fire with fire and Creeping death before they got swallowed into lightening and Kill em " were great and well as the Og. Garage days.

Anything by Slayer, personal fav. being Seasons in the Abyss

Anthrax is good every now and again.

Of course Megadeath the older the better.

Iron Maiden

Also have to go to the roots of many of them and Blair the Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Misfits, AC/DC, etc…

Thats my short list. Most of the newer stuff just doesnt give that same tear the damn walls down at all cost feel of the older stuff.

You have to go the the roots as well.

Ok another: Anthrax “State of Euphoria”
and maybe they aren’t metal, but they have always kicked ass: Led Zeppelin, the original hard rock group. I mentioned only one Megadeth, but all are good up to Euthanasia.

Agreed! Stone the Crow’s gotta be one of the best power ballads ever.

Yup, but Temptation’s Wings, Lifer, and the build-up to Eyes of the South are intense as hell.

This list could go on and on. Anybody into Dream Theater and Iced Earth???[/quote]

I own several Iced Earth albums, and I like a song here or there, but they’ve never really done it for me. I respect how talented they are, but it’s power metal really, not driving thrash stuff. Even Burnt Offerings wasn’t, to my mind, that great.

Hardcore Metal:

All albums by Hatebreed
The Haunted, esp. One Kill Wonder

Lamb of God; Ashes of the Wake, As the Palace burns.

xDeathstarx -another fast paced album

Old School:

Celtic Frost, Morbid Tales. -pioneers of european death metal

Anything by Slayer.
