Great job Syn!!! you look like an absolute BEAST on stage!
Damn he looks great in that lineup shot. Can’t wait to see more pics for a better idea of his final conditioning.

Thanks Stu and everyone else for the kind words.
I hope it didn’t sound like I was making excuses in my previous post. That’s not in my nature, and surely wasn’t my intention. It was more disappointment. I feel like I “left something on the table” by not nailing my conditioning correctly. I should have gone through a trial run a few weeks ahead of time. The main reason I didn’t, was because my training and dieting were so intense, I felt (at the time) that it would almost be a “wasted week.” Looking back on it, and I see now, that it definitely wouldn’t have been. Another learning experience.
I’d thought I throw up a couple pics of what my Arm/Shoulder and calf looked like the day after the show. As you can see, I’m much drier, fuller, and more vascular. This was prominent across my entire body that day!! Even my abs (which are no doubt, my weakest link…very shallow, and I have thick skin in that area from all those years weighing 300 plus pounds (I think…at least that’s what I tell myself
)
I’ve already begun to address my weak points the last couple of days. I’m on a mission to become the BEST I CAN BE, and get better everyday, until my next show. I will be bigger, leaner, and more confident in my ability to nail my conditioning and present a helluva a package on stage!!
Thanks again everyone.

Scary dude. Still hungry after winning your class, working on weak points (there cant be many!) Awesome.
Synergy, holy mother of GOD. Are you going to ease back in to an offseason diet/training template, or just jump back in? And when are you going to compete next?
Also, what was your weight for the contest, and how much did you lose total to get into contest shape?
PS you could very easily become an online guru if you stopped being so helpful (lol)
Wow, great shots (very good tan too by the way! -lol)

Yes. Although, I’m already back to training, my workouts this week have been a lot less intense than usual. I’ve only trained upper body thus far (Press workout yesterday, and Back/pull workout today). I’m taking my time between sets, and enjoying the feeling of actually having some energy during workouts!
I’ve kept the workouts to about 75 minutes or so, and they’ve actually been very “therapeutic.” I love working out again!
On Sunday of the final week of prep, I was weighing 255…went through the water/salt load, then the water/salt drop…weighed in at 241 Friday night before the show…checked my weight again between pre-judging and the night show and was down to 235!!!
So, I dropped 20 lbs. of water in 6 days.
Today’s weight…252 ![]()
I started my prep back in the beginning of February at 265, so all in all, I dropped close to 30 lbs. by the day of the show, which is exactly what I thought it would be.
I’m VERY open to working with guys from this site improve their body composition, health, performance and overall physique goals.
CONSIDER THIS AN OPEN INVITATION TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN CONTACTING ME ABOUT THIS.

oh man, I’m just trying to stick to the basics. Trying to go from the pic in my avatar to a relatively lean 220-240 by December. Basically, I’m doing this:
Mon - Chest
Tues - Back, Calves
Wed - Arms
Thurs - Legs
Fri - Shoulders
Sat - HIIT
Sun - rest or jog
Diet: I do pretty well with carbs luckily
2 cups oats
1.5 scoops whey
Sandwich = WW bread, slice cheese, big chicken breast
Apple
Pre Workout: 1 or 2 bananas
Post Workout:
2 cups oats
1.5 scoops whey
2 cups rice (white, brown…)
2 big chicken breasts
broccoli
5 eggs
7 whites
slice cheese
sunflower seeds
This is just an outline. It comes out to about 400g carb / 250-300 g pro / 100g fat. If I’m going to eat a big meal, I TRY to make it post-workout. Otherwise, I have 2 cheat meals a week. Usually a large pizza Thurs night (leg day) and a quart or so of ice cream on Sat night.
I don’t know why I’m posting this here, but seeing how successful you’ve been, maybe you could make some recommendations…? You killed it BTW. Do you have any weight goals for this offseason? Are you going to try to go past 265? And how tall are you?
This is only the beginning…
JM
Any other contest pics of some of the other poses?
235 contest condition is sick man.

Wow so really your carbed up/normal weight only dropped ~10-15lb? So thats all the fat you had to lose roughly to get that lean? That’s nuts
Do you know what your arms and calves measure at normally? Also, I sent you a PM.

Done.
damn that’s a lot of water to drop. I’ve always heard of MMA guys and various physique competitors (BBers) dropping 5+ lbs, but I’ve never seen more than 2-3 lbs myself. Good stuff brother, lotta respect.

I suppose it’s all relative. At a bodyweight of 250+ (6’1"), 10-15 lbs isn’t that much, but 20 lbs is up there .
How are you feeling heading into the last few weeks? Your “weight room strength” hanging in there??

It’s not what most people expect. My actual work weights never really drop. Sure I may back off a little bit due to past injuries (more of a mental thing I guess), but once I’m under the bar, my muscles don’t know if it’s precontest time or offseason time. On the other hand though, in between sets, I find myself tired as hell -lol. Getting comments from gym regulars like “My you look pale today!”, or “dragging ass huh?” really helps keep me focused in some sick sort of way (Just how much can I take… more than you I’ll bet!)
I just keep reminding myself how cheated I felt at my last show, and it’s all the motivation I need to keep pounding away.
Such a crazy f-ing sport eh brother? ![]()

Wow! I want a pair of calves like yours!
Unusual question, but how tall are you? You look very tall in the lineup pic and I just realized that you stepped on stage with 20 pounds more than I plan to this fall (and I’m pretty tall…).
My heaviest weight on stage aver was 233 - completly out of shape. My best condition ever was a very dry 220.
Great work, big man!
Awesome job, you look great in the show pics!
Completely convinced that you’ll win overall next time with how well you analyze your nutrition and workouts.
It’ll be interesting also how the indigo works for you, with how detailed you are at tracking your workouts and whatnot.
Once again, awesome job!
