Synergy93 - Fill Us In

You, you are a real beast, Sir! Very impressive shoulders and upper chest in that pic.

Sad to hear about the stress you have to go through. I know the feeling. It’s tough. Just like Stu said, your life is your life and there are just so many things more important than bodybuilding.
I find it even more impressive that you decided not to cancel the contest (which is what I did last year when my parents both were hospitalized and later on my mother died), but to set up a plan to push through and compete!

You are a true champion already!!

You’re looking INSANE! I really hope whatever issues you are dealing with get sorted out, man. Hang in there, and do what you gotta do. Good luck! Or should I say, keep kicking ass!

I wish you the best Syn. We will always support ya!

All the best and good luck for today, big man!

^ x2. You put in the work and made the sacrifices I hope you get what you deserve.

first time poster in this thread, but absolutely phenominal work Synergy. Many have learned so much from this thread while others just re-read stuff they know but in a good way. A slightly different manner of writing about stuff people know can make it sink in even better and more permanently.

Anyways, I am very anxious to see your results and what I am about to ask may sound like too much and I completely understand if you are unwilling to do it. That being said, a rundown of your final week, food, water would be intersting as well as your plans for after the contest. I honestly feel this information along with all the info in this thread would make for a fantastic article here on T-Nation (your physique combined with all of your Biotest supps is a no brainer of an article) Possibly an e-book along the lines of what shelby and marc bartley put out years ago about his transformation (I mean you and him have a similar story, he was a great powerlifter who shed over 100 pounds and entered a BB contest, you were a heavy NFL lineman who transformed that build into what is nothing short of an amazing physique). Not trying to be too pushy but I think many could benefit from all this info.

Thanks
Magoo

ditto, he is going to look incredible on stage. Hopefully he will make some waves the show, if the reaction to his last picture in this thread is anything to go by he surely will…

Hey big man
We’re dying here. How did the contest go?
Cheers, PA

Yeah,… how’d things go brother?! (I know we can’t all be as insanely comited as I am, literally typing updates from my cel phone, getting dream tan all over it, as I lay on my back on the cold concrete floor backstage after a prejudging -lol.)

S

Hey guys. Thanks for the interest in how things went this weekend.

Overall, it was a great experience and I did very well. Considering it was my first show in 5 years, and what I consider to be my first official show. The one I did 5 years ago, was more of a “weight loss goal” event. I lost over 80 pounds to do it, had no idea how to nail my conditioning, and basically, presented a half ass physique.

This time around, I prepared the right way, and the results were good.

I ended up taking 1st place in the Super Heavyweight division. I didn’t take the overall, but was happy with my performance.

Unfortunately, I missed my peak conditioning by about 12 hours! I couldn’t get quite dry enough. The overall leanness, was there, but I was lacking a bit of dryness, fullness and vascularity.

On Sunday, I looked like a COMPLETELY different person…dry, full, and vascular as I’ve ever been. Had I been able to step on stage in that condition, I feel I would have had a shot for the top spot.

You live and learn. I now know exactly how to nail my conditioning, those last couple of days, for the next show.

I feel good, in that I was by far the biggest competitor, with the most balanced symmetry, and “prettiness.” The judges told me that I had everything nailed down, except I could have been a bit drier.

I’m pleased with the whole experience and no doubt raised some waves within the bodybuilding community.

I’ll be back with a vengeance next time and plan on winning the whole F’ing thing.

I’ll post some pics, when I get them.

Thanks again to everyone for all their support. You guys really did help me carry on towards the end. I’m humbled by this and sincerely appreciate all the encouragement.

BTW…I’m already back to training to work on the areas I need to improve.

I started the IG3 today and am looking for big things out of it’s use. I’ll be sure to post a very detailed log of my “Indigo Journey” as soon as I get some free time.

Awesomeness, cant wait to see the shots. The disappointment is understandable, but the learning process is part of the whole reason we love doing this stuff.

Care to detail your prep week when you get the time as well?

Can’t wait to see where you go from here, man!

Thanks Lonnie.

Here’s a side chest shot

You’re an inspiration big fella!

And you look sick ^

Look great dude!

Lot of interesting information and perspectives in this thread! Keep them coming!

Congratulations, big man! Truly inspirational!

Sharing all this in your blog made this contest prep an exciting experience for us readers, too. Now, I’m very much looking forward to seeing how you do on I-3G.

Thank you for sharing and always think big,
PA

Crazy size and definition for a natty… Or for anyone really. But given how much work you put into it (your workload was OFF THE CHARTS, and inspired me to up mine) I dont see how you could have failed to come in and be impressive.

You can rest easy knowing you put in a HELL of an effort. Chest development is insane

Yeah, the big thing with Synergy is that he very much takes away excuses us Natties have for not working hard enough (diet and training) to be able to achieve this type of size and physique.

Genetic excuses be damned - this is one of the premium examples on these boards (with Stu) for us Natties to aspire to.

Isn’t it funny that the big thing when you read Syn and Stu is the mental discipline that clearly comes across in everything they do in this game? Aren’t these the clues left behind from their success?
(rhetorical questions)

amazing mass, get some more pics up!

Good stuff. Congrats on 1st in the SH’s!

Here’s an awesome picture from the posedown, courtesy of D-Ray Photography. As you guys can see, Syn was up against some amazing competitors and he brought an amazing package as well. Here’s the order from left to right: Super Heavyweight, Light Heavyweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, Lightweight, Bantamweight. The guy who won the overall was the Heavyweight.

I had the pleasure of meeting Syn this last weekend as I was competing in the heavyweight division for my first show (didn’t place). I have to say that when he walked in to weigh-ins on Friday night, it got very quiet. He dominated the Super Heavyweights and his posing was top tier. I chatted with Syn before the night show on Saturday and he is just as knowledgeable and helpful in real life as he is on this forum.

The overall was definitely a tough competition. Nearly every winner of each weight class was in top condition and brought great bodybuilding physiques. The crowd was going nuts during the posedown and I honestly didn’t know who was going to win it, though the guy who won the Heavyweights was probably the favorite going in.

Syn, it was truly a pleasure meeting you and I have nothing but respect for you. I look forward to keeping in contact with you and helping you represent Minnesota bodybuilding at its finest in the future!

Syn was definitely the biggest dude on stage, other than the guest poser, Toney Freeman.
