For paraolympics can you use any other supps than garden of life or klean protein? Feel free to edit @Chris_Colucci I’ve got to keep ya busy. Plus, my coach won’t let some people who have received good advice name you guys cuz of stigma of supps and roids. Any advice on that? Edit Not for powerlifting but so Much other knowledge
Sports organizations generally have a “Banned Substance” list that very specifically states what athletes can and cannot use. There’s no way that those two brands would be the only acceptable options.
Not sure I follow. You coach won’t let people say they use Biotest products because of the association with Testosterone Nation? That’s beyond stupid, like saying I won’t tell people I’m from Long Island because Amy Fisher is from here and she shot a lady in the face. One has zero to do with the other.
Biotest supps aren’t banned in competitions. The only exception I’ve seen is some bodybuilding feds had an issue with an ingredient found in an older Hot-Rox formula.
The bottom line is, it’s the responsibility of the athlete to check the organizations banned substance list and compare it to whatever they’re taking.
Thanks. He said those two are only allowed on his team. Not meaning to cause problems. But yeah, people are stupid and some “coaches” have stupid rules. Was just wondering if I wanted to pass it on to a senior team member. Edit saying it’s stupid when your just going to train with them occasionally because I can’t live two lives, I wanted to have some advice how to propose it to help others when I’ve helped two already. It is out of “my give back” attitude. I hit a roadblock and was asking for advice on how to present it.
Then he’s either an affiliate for them and gets a kickback or he’s bought into the idea of things like “grass-fed protein powder”, which is debatable at best.
It might be a matter of ‘what coach doesn’t know won’t hurt him’, but that’s for the athletes to decide on their own and, worst case scenario, could cause some coach-athlete tension if the find out. Simply asking the coach “Why?” would be a good start.
As I always say advice appreciated. Texted him, and he said any supplements you take at your own risk. He highly recommended klean because he has never had any athletes fail. He generates athletes that are ready and able to perform. He doesn’t allow any others because it is too high of a risk. Supps aren’t regulated and do I want to follow his guidelines or make up my own rules.
So, eh he seems hard ass! Don’t want to rock boat with “him” Will continue leading athletes to your site through and link articles. After all what can they do to me?
Btw, this is not bs I’m blowing out my ass. I don’t want to bring out names. So, this makes for an awkward conversation. I just want to “give back”. Edit cuz I didn’t sign up for a long time but I’ve learned so much over the years.
FWIW, Biotest supps have been used by NCAA and pro athletes, CrossFit Games competitors, drug-tested natural bodybuilders, and plenty others. I totally get the idea of being cautious about what you take prior to competitions, but it’s not like Biotest is a fly-by-night company homebrewing stuff in a bathtub.
If he’s your coach, you need to do what you’re comfortable with.
Understood. Thanks for your time. Question since you’re there, I know you’re a grammar critic, but do read and realize you guys helped save my life?
So, I honestly appreciate everyone. I can be bitchy, but down to the core, ty
