Supplement For Common Cold?

Can anyone recommend a supplement/vitamin (or combo of both) to help get over a killer cold? I’ve had one for about 10 days now and haven’t been able to train since it started. It was in my head and chest, now it’s just making me weak and tired. Gotta kick this before I go insane. Thanks in advance.

Echinacea, Zinc (ZMA), vitamin C, load up on these amd they help bolster the immune system or if you get a cold get over it sooner.

I have to give a lot respect to Airborne and Zicam. They have both worked very well for me. At the first sign of a cold is when you take them. Taking during a cold lessens the effect greatly. But of you hit the cold immediately they will work wonders. If you have a Sam’s Club or Costco around you get them there as its much cheaper. The Zicam chewables dont work as well though and taste ultra nasty. Airborne’s lemon lime flavored tablets actually taste really good!

I’ve always been a Vitamin C guy. The first signs of a cold and I start taking 5 to 10 grams per day.

That’s GRAMS!

I have never seen it NOT stop a cold dead in it’s tracks if you do it early enough.

(I only stay on that mega dose 5 days)

Beyond that, I supplement with Zinc Lozenges and a lot of salt water gargling 4 or 5 times per day.

Good luck,

Zeb

I read a study ages ago that showed that hyperdoses of vit C taken at the beginning of the cold helped to cure it, but if you started taking them halfway through the cold, they didn’t help at all.

Thanks for the advice everyone … I think at this point I’m just going to fill myself with vitamins, veggies & fruits, and sleep. Seems to be the way to go.

I bet that’s true.
