I’ve just recently begun using Superfood. Now, I have to say that I’m pretty sceptical about most supplements, although I trust Biotest FAR more than most companies. Anyway, I play poker semi-professionally; as such, even though non-smoking games are quickly becoming the norm, I’m still confronted with smoke filled situations sometimes.
Last night after spending the evening at a game that was very smokey, and which would normally have wrecked my sinuses and made me feel half ill, I walked away after having consumed a half-serving of Superfood beforehand feeling great–no blocked-up sinuses, no spinning head.
I get up this morning and my wife and I consume a half-serving with our breakfast, and DAMN IT within a very short time we both feel great; full of energy, and just really good!
I’m COMPLETELY sold on this food (it’s NOT a “supplement”). Conceptually, the idea always made sense to me, but I was unimpressed with other so-called superfoods in the past.
I’d very much like to hear other people’s experience with Superfood.
That’s funny, my initial observation was the same as yours. I’ve had problems with my sinuses in the past and sometimes my vision gets blurry due to sinus pressure. Since, I’ve been taking Superfood my vision is better and don’t seems to have as many issues with my sinuses.
I’ve also noticed that I feel more awake in the morning and my system in general just feels ‘cleaner’ to me. I don’t really know how to describe it.
I can’t say I’ve felt anything outside of how I normally feel, but I can’t stress enough how important I feel it is to get those nutrients in from Superfood. They are vital to over all and long term good health. I also believe they play a crucial role in ph balance and getting the most from your weight training.
if any of you follow the work of Dr Sears (the zone guy) you’ll know that besides fish oil, high levels of polyphenols exert powerful anti-inflammatory properties. there is also some evidence that high levels of polyphenols help steer calories away from fat storage.
Superfood, fish oil, and protein should be a staple in absolutely everyone’s diet.
incidentally, i was introduced to ‘the zone’ through an article in mm2k when it was still a badass magazine. thanks TC!

Me too, might feel a bit better in general, but I can’t specifically attribute this to Superfood.
However(word of advice), I stopped taking my mulit-vitamin when I started on Superfood. Big mistake (from a feeling well/ energy stand point.)
I don’t think Superfood should be used as a substitute for a multi-vitamin(if you are into multi-vitamins).
Now I use both and I feel better(more energy/healthier) than I have in a long time.
fwiw-when I take Superfood, a multi, and eat lots of green veggies I feel like superman. : )
Odd, I stopped my multi and have never felt better.
(Though I do eat my fruits and veg)[/quote]
Same here. I ditched my multi-vitamins once I started using Superfood and haven’t looked back. I think it’s one of the reasons I feel like my system is ‘cleaner’.
I’m pretty sure TC said in the Superfood article (or thread), that he doesn’t take a multi either and that it’s totally unnecessary if you’re taking Superfood.
Do you guys think it’s better to consume an entire serving of Superfood all at once, or divide it into two half (one scoop) servings–or does it make a difference? I’ve been dividing it into two servings; one at breakfast, one later in the day.

I do both. Sometimes I forget in the morning and double up in the evening. Other times I wake up and put two scoops in and drink it down with my BCAAs. But I try to split up the whole serving by taking some in the a.m/p.m. I guess whatever is convenient and will allow you to stay consistent.
I second slimsaw00. I love this stuff.
Since I’ve been taking it over the winter, everyone in my office has had really bad colds. Not Me!! I ditched my vitamins and have never felt better. This is something I think as long as they make it, I’ll buy it.
I bit the bullet and just bought it. With the price of fruit it’s a really good deal. And I’m not a big veggie person.
Figured I’ll toss it into my Surge/creatine PWO shake (anyone done this, flavor?). Figured with all the free radicals exercise creates it would be a nice time to take it along with the insulin spike.

I throw half a serving in my PWO Surge. I’ve tried it with original, raspberry and chocolate. I actually like it with chocolate the best. It’s like having a shake that tastes like chocolate covered fruit. With raspberry, I couldn’t really taste the Superfood at all and it I didn’t really like it with original.
I’m pretty good about fruits or veggies with every meal, but I like having this stuff for the exceptions, sort of like how I use fish oil on the days I don’t eat fish. I usually take it with my eggs. I trust that it’s doing its job, and honestly I feel great right now, though I can’t attribute that to any one thing.
