With all due respect, have you been reading any of the replies he posts to any of my posts?
I’m not a snowflake or whatever but yikes, if this is the regular way to talk to people then I don’t even know what belittling means.

In general I am a nice person, I don’t think I have ever upright insulted (or thrown shade, been condescending, passive-aggressive) anyone (only after repeated times I get pissed off).
I don’t really care about a jerk who is a mentor, I’m sorry. I don’t work with people who are assholes, no matter how smart or good they are.

Ok, @supercardrives, you have made your point clear. I honestly recommend you continue focusing on your right priorities. You are making a transition here!

Earlier on (before this outburst of sorts) I was going to complement you on your lifts. The most recent posts show you got on with deadlifts and lunges. That is an accomplishment! I believe you can build some decent strength and make progress - based on your current numbers.

…And remember to do other fun stuff (than eating and training) as a reward to yourself for making this happen. Eat, lift, sleep, do other fun stuff - repeat.

A little late to the gym, couldn’t get the powerrack today for military press, did dumbbell shoulder press instead.

Week 2 - Jeff Nippard’s Hypertrophy Fundamentals, Body Part split routine

12 November 2021 Friday - General Stuff:

  • Weighed in at 78.8kg
  • From the Apple Watch, slept 6h50m last night

12 November 2021 - Shoulders/Arms

  • 3 x 8 - 50 lb DB Shoulder Press down to ear, RPE 8/9/10 (kind of failed last rep last set)
  • 3 x 12 - 30 lb Dumbbell lateral raise RPE 9/9/9 (I guess I should control this movement more)
  • 3 x 15 - 120 lb Rear delt flye machine
  • 2 x 12 - 85 lb Tricep extension macine
  • 3 x 12 - Supinated seated dumbbell curl, slow controlled eccentric, squeeze at top, RPE 9/9/9

Rest days coming up, still targeting to end this cut phase around 76-76.5kg, lets see where the waist (navel) is at this Sunday.

No bars available outside of the racks?

There is just 1 powerrack in the gym and 2 benches.

Usually I get in before 5AM but today I slipped a bit and someone had it.

Ok. Are there no bars that are outside of the racks that you could have used?

Nope, 3 barbells in total. I’ll probably change gyms when I’m strong enough I guess. This is kind of a beginner gym.

It’s the closest one walking distance to my place so I have been preferring it. Plus it has most things I needed for now (DBs only go up to 75 but I can’t do any lift over that anyway).

On the bright side, the cut seems to be going good, don’t feel any weakness or energy loss. I’ll see how I’m feeling Monday and what weight I can do for bench press, hopefully 150, but it may be a challenge to get it 3x6.

Just need to drop 2.5-3kg more…

You might take this the wrong way, but I think you have to realize you’re a kindergartener in the gym. You’re not a kindergartner in life, so there is, of course, some disconnect. You are interpreting guidance as an attack because of the delivery, but a kindergartener needs really specific “don’t touch the stove” kind of guardrails. That doesn’t feel right to you, because you’re not in that juvenile mindset anywhere else in life, but it’s just the natural phase of where you currently are in the gym.

Anyway, I stand by my earlier piece of “you’re worrying too much”.

Also, I’m pretty bald - I think it’s an unfortunate side effect of age, though.
