Well I mean again, I am not saying it will guaranteed cause hair loss, but its hard to deny the link between Creatine, DHT and hairloss in people already susceptible to hair loss.

I actually think there is some evidence backing an indirect impact on hair from creatine. It just allows a very slight boost in Testosterone, and therefore DHT. IMO, the impact is so small though that we shouldn’t pay any attention to it.

There are hair loss doctors that recommend not taking it for those very prone to hair loss, or those who have had a transplant. I care about my hair, and would still use it though.

Worrying about it would be similiar to worrying that having your testosterone go up by 5% would cause hair loss. That is probably about the scale of how much it causes hair loss.

Exercise has been repeatedly shown elevate DHT. Hopefully you’re not considering stopping training.

But, like creatine, the benefits of exercise vastly outweigh any potential risk to your hairline.

Yes, ultimately there is also a strong link to testosterone in general (which is why a lot of juicers go bald), but I don’t think I want to risk any additional pressure if I can avoid it and progress without it.

It is a “supplement” after-all. It’s not like I’m going to bench 2 plates 2 weeks after taking it.

Just try eating regular food in adequate amounts for a while.

Not super sexy, no hype. Just good foods choices and a solid exercise regiment.

I often recognize personal conviction being greater than true science or experience. Problem is, since you BELIEVE creatine will cause hairloss - it probably will - because of the stress it may induce, provided you are taking it.

I get a bit concerned re your reactions on shared advice from more experienced trainees. Please go easy. This in no way being offensively meant.

For all I care, I think we should leave the subject of creatine alone here.

I’m not saying experienced trainees here aren’t more knowledgeable in this field overall than me, I just don’t get whats up with the name-calling or slurs, maybe its common in the fitness industry; there are civil ways to have discussions. Where have you seen me invoke any sort of name-calling first?

Just because someone is more jacked (or richer or whatever) than you doesn’t give them that right.

We are all working towards goals, no matter where someone is, they should be treated with respect. That’s how I think of interactions at least, maybe you think its fine to namecall someone just because they are less experienced or not as rich or don’t drive a McLaren or something.

There may be some disconnect as well, as I believe OP had at one point considered getting on TRT, which would impact hair loss much much more than creatine would.

I mean I wouldn’t actually do it if they said my hair would be gone or if the odds of it are higher than it going off on creatine. I never even consulted a doctor yet.

It is most certainly harder on hair than creatine. If you actually need TRT, it is worth it though. You would need to do blood work and such to figure that out though.

Also, creatine is a supplement, but it is found in food you eat. You probably aren’t avoiding those foods. Some energy drinks have it in them. I wouldn’t worry about creatine if I was you. I don’t think it does very much, so you can take it or leave it. Just leaving it only because of hair doesn’t make much sense as the impact is negligible.

Hey man, just think about the major changes you have going on right now.

  • brand new program you’ve been on for 2 weeks
  • new diet
  • cutting

Just eat food and lift.

I personally wouldn’t stress about supplements. Get your diet and training 90% “good” and then worry about the extra shit. If you want creatine, eat more red meat.

Yes, but I am hoping I don’t need any of the TRT or whatever, I haven’t been to a doc yet and I’m trying out a clean diet and such to see if there’s any natural improvement. I’m also 23, so I really hope it doesn’t come to that in any case.

Don’t get me wrong about thinking you arent more experience, I am a nice person in general, but I just got fucking pissed after all these repeated passive-aggressive bullshit again and again.
