Hi, i’ve been racking my brain now wondering why my bench suddenly dropped, basically i just pushed up a few weeks ago and finaly happy that i did and all of a sudden i cant do it anymore just wondering any theories as to why a few weeks ago i could do the weight and now i cant?
p.s. nothing has changed in my routine, diet or sleep pattern so am completely lost on the problem
Thanks.
It is probably time to change your current routine. Your body adapts after a period of time and when you are at a sticking point with no gains, change it up.
Where do you live? Change of seasons effects many people in the northeast, generally more energy feel a little stronger when spring and summer start, and more tired and a little weaker when fall starts. Once you get accustomed to it the strength goes back up.
More likely, it was a just a bad day.
But becareful, if you start to see another week of negative progress then you may be overtraining a that body part a little. Which happens ALOT when people get PR’s because now they want to do it more often and try to get it every other day, and not let their body repair properly.
cheers for the help, it may be because of the routine as its been the same for a while, it really cant be overtraining as i have been resting more to see if that helped and it hasnt but thanks anyways, anymore suggestions would be much appreciated
Sleep, what you’ve eaten, if you’re hydrated. Everybody has bad days, I wouldn’t panic yet if it were just 1 or 2 workouts.
Are you balancing your pushing and pressing exercises?
It was 3 workouts, today was the day i decided something was wrong. I would also say their is a relative balance between pushing and pulling exercises if thats what you mean but maybe.
