I’ve thought about it all day, staring at the quote, feeling uneasy:
“What luck for rulers that men do not think.” Adolf Hitler
Though posting his quote was clearly intended as a warning, and was understood properly hopefully by most of us, Hitler was a prick who does not deserve to be quoted in the Strong Words section, where we normally are served bon mots and whitty phrases. He doesn’t belong here on T-Nation.

“He who stands on toilet, is high on pot!” Think about it…
Makkun, though I usually agree with your viewpoint, I part ways with you on this one. True, there from a despicable bastard, but they are powerful and true.
No offense but maybe you should unclench your butcheeks just a little bit. It wasn’t an ensorsment of Hitler by T-Nation, just strong words that happen to be true. I belive there’s something to be learned from everything and everyone.
Miyamoto Musashi said once: If anything is anything, than everything is everything.
I believe that we all fit together, the good and the bad, evil and pure, even the libs and the conservatives!

Spoken by anyone else, it wouldn’t have had the desired effect.
i like the words there exactly because hitler was such a frickn prick.
what those words say to me is wake the frick up. hitler does not deserve praise, but he definitely doesn’t deserve to be forgotten. on the contrary he needs to be remembered; there are people who carry on his agenda even today and would love it if the world forgot who hitler was and forgot the lives he destroyed, and even more the millions of people he got to support him and look the other way while killed millions of people.
and for that reason alone we should quote hitler wherever and whenever possible . we should build a wicked huge fricken godzilla sized monument of hitler the frickn prick douchebag so the world never, ever, comes close to forgetting how such an ugly frickn prick douchebag loser was able to convince an entire nation of normal people to go along with him as long as they did.
I must admit, my butt cheeks are clenched when it comes to him; and that has nothing to do with PC, just with me being German, I guess.
I absolutely agree that it is a good quote, and it explains his attitude towards “leading” people. I was just irritated seeing it in a column, where we normally find quotes of honorable personalities with whom we tend to agree.
I personally think it’s a stronger quote because it was Hitler who said it. I mean, think about it. Who would know better about manipulating the people?
Hitler was a complete loon, but he worked very hard at manipulating people.
I like the fact that this quote is here because of its deeper meaning. You need to learn to think for yourself, otherwise pricks like Hitler will do it for you.
