Strong Videos

i dl-ed a few of these videos into my ipod and blast them before i go the gym to get hyped up. this ppl are hella strong (to me) but i was wondering today if this was just the norm for most of you ppl here. ive never EVER seen anyone squat/deadlift/press so much before here in Singapore. Except for this ang moh guy. (ang moh = caucasian ;D) so yeaaa how many of you can actually lift these kinda numbers?

Steve MacDonald trains at my gym. He is the bald monster lifting the stone at :50 in the second vid. That was a 522 lb atlas stone, which was a world record at the time. Not sure if it has been surpassed now.

Those are two excellent and inspirational videos!! But, to answer your question…you must realize that most of those clips were from some of the greatest lifters and strognmen to ever walk the earth. Included were Naim Suleymanoglu aka Pocket Hercules, from Turkey, a multi-gold medal winner from the Olympics at approx. 136 lbs. all the way to Mariusz Pudzianowski likely the most accomplished “Strognman” of all time; with apologies to Mr. Bill Kazmier.

These folks are at the absolute pinnacle of their sports…true freaks. So; no…you won’t see that kind of strength displayed at your local neighborhood gym. That is not to say that there are not incredibly strong people out there, all-over, in any community. Included in the video were Franco Columbo and Tank Abbott.

Although they are also rare individuals with crazy strength, they are not elite-level, so some of their lifts are more likely to be duplicated by some serious training lifters. Although that would be quite the accomplishment!! Ronnie Coleman and Johnnie Jackson are bodybuilders who frequently put up lifting poundages that approach elite level. Again; rare individuals!! But they are out there…just not at Planet Fitness.

Inspiration and motivation right there. I do plan to catch some of those deadlifts within a 5 years or so, fwiw…

Will you make a hungry4more inspirational video?

Those vids motivate me…by making me face just how weak I am…lol

yea, those videos can really pump me up. now im just a weakling, i squat like what, 2plats each side and deadlift 1.75 plate each side. but yea, like what they say, to squat 800pounds, youve got to squat 300, 400, 500 pounds first. so i will reach that weight! someday…

im very VERY glad to know that this isnt the norm in the USA. it’ll be quite saddening. haha. and it’s quite cool that some of those guys in the vid, (like the arabs (i think they’re arabs) and chinese) are pretty small(compared to some of the other lifters) yet lift a ton of weight!

hungry4more: wut 5 years?!?!?!

They should have shown the video of Tank Abbott doing upright rows to his chin with 315. Awesome video though. Justin Harris is throwing that 500 lbs in the squat like it’s nothing!
