Strength Discrepancies?

Ok, I bench press 175, cg bp 165, incline press 145, and can skull crush 105 for a max. I always stick about 4 inches off my chest, and am not sure if this is from my chest being weaker than my triceps or what. I skull crush a lot more than other guys in my gym who’re benching over 200, so it’s just overall confusing to me. do skulls hit a different head of the tricep?

And for the 2nd part, should my tricep be literally about twice as large as my bicep when i extend my arm? I can straight bar curl 110 without moving my back, but my biceps just won’t grow. anyone else have this problem?

as a conclusion, i want to post some maxes and ask you to look for discrepancies.

Bench:175
Squat:295
Deadlift: 300
Curl:110
Skull 105
Lat pulldown:180
Weighted Pullups: 3x of BW+45 (at the end of a pyramid)
Chins:26 max
Hang Cleans:175
Push Jerk: 155
Shrugs: repping 225x15

Oh, and for anyone still reading, what hits the lateral head of he tri? (the one that pops out on the side of the arm)

  1. Your sticking point is your chest.
  2. Tricep makes up much more of your arm mass then your bicep.
  3. There is an article on this site that shows what tricep movements isolate the head you speak of.
  4. I don’t see any major discrepancies.

good deal. Thanks. I don’t have a Pec Deck, so i’m assuming i should just do DB flys to hit the chest more?

at 150pounds and <1 year training, there is no such thing as “discrepancies”.

Just stick to the basic compounds and eat.

Widen your grip and focus on hitting your chest. If you use a weight that is too heavy your body will preferentially select the muscles best suited, unless you focus and tell it otherwise.
If you don’t have that control then do Db Bench. I personally don’t do flyes so I have no comment on that.
