I went to visit my older sister about a year ago and took her to the gym and put her through a few sessions and shes really motivated. I’m very proud of her but she has some strech marks that she really wants to get rid of. If anyone can give me some advice to relay to her I’d Appreciate it.
Damn Jilly, you just ruined my morning. You’re supposed to say that with excellent diet and training they will fade to nothingness. So by the time I drop all the pregnancy weight and love my body, I won’t even notice the stretch marks anymore (fingers crossed!).
No, like Jilly said, they are permanenet. They are actually tears in the subcutaneous layer of the skin that occur as your belly expands faster (or bigger) than your skin can accomodate. The creams and such that claim to get rid of them are basically mild bleach for the skin. I’ve never heard of one that works well.
She’d be better off talking to a dermatologist if she truly wants to invest the time and money into making them as invisible as possible.
I’m not happy about mine. My husband says he likes scars… but they’re not on his body. Hopefully they will become less noticeable over time as my abs used to be one of my favorite parts of my body.
Be proud of those scars. They tell the story about an AMAZING moment in your life. You created a child, no other feat in the world is as impressive as that to me.
I love my wife’s stretch-marks along with the rest of her. They’re perfect on her, a part of who she is, and a connection that binds us together. Those scars just make her more beautiful to me.
Try TriLastin SR.
My wife has stretch marks from when she was growing, and nothing has ever worked. She recently started with trilastin and it seems to be working. Ideally your sister should have used it as soon as she found out she was pregnant, but it could still help her.
I am using cocoa butter right now, but when i start getting some good gains I’m changing to it.

They’ll fade in time. It’s all part of growing a beautiful baby. You’ll still love your abs, they will just have more character.
Speaking of which, what’s happening? Did you do the bumpy road yet?

Diana - nothing is happening. Not a single contraction. If I don’t go this week I’m supposed to be induced next Saturday. I’ll be almost 42 weeks then.
THEY DONT GO AWAY!? AAAAAHHHHH
I thought the fat stretch marks will go away by like laser or something, and i was planning on getting laser when i was lean, now when one day i might be ripped ill always have these marks on my body reminding me that i was fat >_>

Ouf, you must be getting fed up!
How big is the baby now? That’s a hard choice, to wait or go for the induction. I guess 42 weeks is long enough though.
Chin up, won’t be long now. I’ll try to send you some labor karma.

I might as well update here since I don’t have a thread of my own…
No progress. No change. No contractions. No baby. WTF. Doesn’t it know it’s so much more fun out here?
My stomach is so hard now. It’s literally flat under my bellybutton just from the shape of the baby’s body underneath. My husband asked me how many psi my belly is… it’s that damn hard!

I think treatments like laser can make them almost unoticeable. But not things like the creams.
Have you tried using 100% Virgin Shea Butter? L’occitane has it and Whole Foods carries a brand called Ebene Naturals, which has helped mine become less visible and I’m half way through the jar.

LOL thanks for the laugh, I needed that.
My daughter’s foot was sticking out from under my ribs at the very end. You could actually feel the toes through my belly.
Won’t be long (I know it’s long already).
Is this little wonder a boy or girl or did you keep it as a surprise?
