Stomach Vacuum

A tribute thread.

Starting with the GOAT on the subject

Arnold

Reg Park

The Giant Killer

I d like to see all the hgh abuser try and hit that pose with their overgrown organs lol

Steve Michalik

No doubt this is an iconic pose but aesthetically it is not very pleasing.
The sharp drop off from rib cage to abdomen ruins the lines of the physique IMO.

yeah i’m never too sure, that Michalik pic seems almost too much yet the Zane one works for some reason

While I agree with you that it is not my favorite pose, I still think it should be a mandatory pose. It might do something to fix that sick distended belly problem a lot of the pros have.

I like it, I dunno why. I think done well it looks good. Not everyone suits it though

Antoine

Definitely looks good on some. Antoine says to do vacuums to keep your waist small and tight (just the way we like it).

Maybe Walkway will chime in here on the drug part, but I agree to some degree that the bloated gut look isnt as much from AAS/HGH ‘abuse’. In my personal opinion it is just a lost art of training the transverse abdominals. You dont see it onstage, or ever really for that matter as it isnt a visable muscle, and the vacuum is not a mandatory or common pose so it just gets neglected and people really just lose the ability or common strength to keep things tight. I also realize that it sounds like broscience but again, just my opinion.

I think you are right. It seems like those mass monsters with the gut really shove food in ridiculous quantities. I was reading a bunch of Antoine Q & A yesterday and he mentions eating more fats with JM and less quantity, which reduces that bloated look significantly. Paired with vacuum exercises, you get a really nice V taper.

Think about it this way, how often does the average series gym goer train abs? How often do they do vacuums as an exercise?
