i would like to say that i have one good leg. i tore both IT bands in almost the exact same spot on both legs.

as long as they are either pink or chrome…

I currently pay 140 a month for the commercial gym I have used twice so far this year… only cuzz my wife can put the kids in child care there for two hours a day… other than that I go to bb clubs and ghetto hel wholel

Yo meat, any guys from your group lifting in Gene Rychlak’s meet on May 5th? It’s at the Manassas Gold’s, if you hadn’t heard about it.

is that 140 in dollars??? that’s fucking crazy!!! are you in a very expensive area?? i’ve paid $50 a month for a commercial gym and thought that was wayyyyy too much.

i know of at least two guys that are going to compete in it. i was planning on it as well but it’s the same day that my MC is putting on a poker run.

if i didn’t tell you, i’m going down to ref. the brute strength gym meet on the 14th and then will be putting on a SPF meet up here fairly soon. I would love for you to come and compete.

I had the choice of going with the Brute Strength meet or Big Gene’s. The fact that it was going to be in Manassas made it an easy choice.

I haven’t talked to you for a while, but I was knocked out of commission from squatting and deadlifting anything more than 225 for several months after I developed a nasty nerve compression issue in my left hip/leg. It sucked. I’m back to about 85-90% of what I was able to handle last summer those couple of times I lifted at your place.

No shit. If I paid $140 for a gym membership I’d be expecting some serious hands-on service from the girls who worked there.

!!

I have two gym memberships. One is $10/month. One is $13.29 month. I have to drive 30 min to get to both. The only real gym near me is $90/month and has a substandard weight room with low ceilings and no weight banging allowed. If you want to take classes there offered by the owner (bootcamp), the membership jumps to $495/month. I kid you not.

bench’n- three weeks until my next meet. today was the last day of the floor press cycle. we have two more weeks of training and will prep for the meet. i feel good about it. hit my goal of a 585 titan bench. bodyweight is 245 so i’m right on track for 242 by meet time.

floor press against chains
135 + 110lbs of chain x 10
225 x 110lbs x 6
315 + 110lbs x 1
385 + 110lbs x 1
445 + 110lbs x nada…lost over my face but i have plenty of strength for it.

titan ram
315x1
405x1
495x1
545x1
585x1- this was the first time this training partner has spotted me with some heavy weight and he got a little anxious but he didn’t help.

full ROM bench- paused
315x1
405x1
455x1
475x1- very easy

power pushdowns
some x 10 x 3

Just stopping by to see the strong work you put in here. Keep on, keepin’ on!

Nice work another step towards 600. What are shooting for at the meet?

Do you like the Ram better than the slingshot? It looks like the Ram is worn several inches higher.

my plan is to open with 500 raw, then go 510 or so for a second attempt and then on my third crossover to the titan/slingshot division and hit something in the upper 500’s.

they are totally different. the ram is easier to use and allows you to keep your same raw bar path. the maddog definitely will allow you to lift more weight but it’s much more like a real bench shirt. i really haven’t spent much time in it. i can’t use the maddog in this meet since it’s double ply. after the meet i’ll see what i can do with it.

MMeat - Sorry if you posted this already-- where did you order your Titan Ram? Right from Titan or another outlet?

I’ve been reading your posts about them with interest, and this last post about the Ram being closer to a raw path is the decision maker for me.

I probably should have gotten the Ram instead of the Maddog based on the couple of close grip sets I’ve done with the maddog I’m nowhere near ready to try it with a regular grip as it will definitely change my bar path and I think it will take me at least 400 to touch with it.

Last week’s press it looked to me like you would have gotten 600. It seemed like you bounced out of the hole a little more this week and it caused the bar to go just a little higher.

When you put on your SPF meet, what city is it going to be in?

i’m in northern VA. just outside of Washington DC. the meet will be in the Chantilly/manassas area.

i ordered it straight from Titan. i have a large and a medium one. i actually use the medium one the most. i like it to sit right below the biceps. teh large has a tendency to slide all the way up to the shoulders. it also lays flat on the chest the entire time unlike the slingshot. i would definitely go with the titan. they also make a double ply titan that i will probably buy soon as well.

Cool, thanks.

How much carry over to your raw bench do you think training with the Ram has/had? Help more at lock out? No correlation?

that is a family membership at a kinda upscale club here. there are cheaper big box gyms but not by much. all of the child care staff have actual teaching degrees, and are good. and they have tons of shit neither my wife or I would ever use, i.e. racketball courts, etc. nice outdoor pool that we use with the kids in the summer. but yeah, lotta cash for that place. my other gyms are pretty much free.
