damn!!! you are look’n huge.

skwatts… was really hoping to have the monolift for tonight but no dice…next week. hopefully i’ll have the new competition bench for wendsday’s bench day though. going to use the safety squat bar for this cycle…damn that thing really smokes the lower back and core. you really have to fight to not have it bend you over.

safety squat bar squats
0x10
135x6
225x6
315x6
405x4
455x1-long pause
495x1-long pause

walking dumbell lunges

2 laps, 3 laps, 4 laps.

short but tough.

shhhhuuuurrrreeee!!!

the beard does add to the huge factor…at least for my face. my face looks freak’n huge now. definitely a huge face PR. I’m working on 5 straight weeks of growth now. i think that’s gotta be close to a growing PR as well. usually by now i’ve Efffed it up by attempting to trim it. so far, so good.

Doea the safety squat bar affect recovery of your lower back like a high Effort Deadlift or like low intensity high rep pump?

Great lifting the Reverse band Deadlift-- I figured with your build/leverages you would pull like Ed Coan in the semi-sumo position.

by the way, we get our monolift and competition bench on monday… are you jealous??:)[/quote]

Extremely Jelly right now. Meat I think you are 25% Cybernetic the way you just keep getting stronger and stronger…

I love lifting in the SPF. Now to be fair its the only Fed I’ve lifted in but each meet has been a blast so far.

i’ve been deadlifting and squatting on back to back training sessions and keep the volume pretty low with the ME stuff. to answer your question, i guess it would really depend on how you use it. the way the safety bar is designed, it puts the weight in front of you so you have to really fight to keep from getting bent over. you can feel your lower back and core working really hard. with the heavy stuff it feels a lot like a heavy deadlift. if you were to do them for high reps, the burn would really set in.

i started out as a sumo puller but a few years back i tore my adductor really bad and now if i want to pull sumo, i can’t squat heavy. it just doesn’t recover fast enough. there have been a few times where i thought i would retear it. so, to still be able to squat heavy and pull in the same week i switched to conventional. it’s been a hard road but it’s slowly moving up. the up side is that my adductor never bothers me now.

maybe we can work together and you can help me out with getting leaner  you are looking awesome in your new avatar. great peak on your bicep and great definition.

i’ll get some pics of the new equipment tomorrow. it’s all assembled and ready to go. benching tomorrow on the new competition bench.

i’ve competed in a few feds and i’ve always had a great experience with SPF meets. I can’t wait to start running my own.

Thanks Meat, appreciate the kudo’s, Can’t wait to hit goal and start packing on some muscle again. Also looking forward to doing some powerlifting but just in the 220’s instead of the 275’s.

Love squating in a mono. Walking that weight out is always tough on me.

Thank you for your insight.

I feel ripped off that my beanie clearly doesn’t impart the level of power that you seem to get from yours. Maybe it’s the beard with the beanie.

As always, you are inspirational and leave me with a lot of food for thought. SSB squats put me in mind of front squats. I’ve only tried them once as we don’t have a bar but holy crap it was hard.

our new equipment is here!!! used the new competition bench tonight… it’s fucking awesome!!! i took a short vid of the new equipment.

bench night- the new bench makes benching soooo much easier. you won’t slide on this bench. spotting is so much easier with the extra wide platform as well.

foam press
135x10
225x6
315x6
405x6
495x2
555x1 + 10lb PR

reverse grip bench- haven’t done these in awhile…very happy with how easy 405 felt.
315x6
365x6
405x6

floor press- long pause
315x4
415x4- +10lb PR

dips- 100 reps r/p

great night… good equipment makes it all so much easier.

thanks for the kind word. i have noticed that as the beard gets longer, my strength has increased. maybe i’m onto something.

yeah… the safety bar is really hard and really uncomfortable…especially at the bottom. you have to fight really hard to keep from going forward.

Damn, that equipment looks amazing. Now I am really jealous.

Are you planning on setting up some safety chains for it?

Nice equipment!

That pause was sick…“no phone calls”, LOL.

we have a set of Spud straps coming.

training is looking awesome. nice work on the new equipment. after benching on that bench you are going to be spoiled. I absolutely hate benching on anything other than a Forza, Metal Militia, or something similar
