The oriental kid on the left?

It’s funny how becoming a powerlifter you went from being oriental to being a hoss from the South.

Lifting heavy does amazing things to your body.

How ya like the knee wraps?
the wraps are freak’n awesome. a lot of support, easy to put on and they don’t cut in to the back of the legs at the bottom.

before i started bodybuilding i was a little girl named tiffany… go figure.

came in feeling like poop tonight. it was the last night of the board cycle so i had to suck it up and slather on the vagisil.

4 board press
315x3
405x3
495x1
565x1
615x1 + 5lb PR.

bench press- full ROM, touch and go
315x1
405x1
475x1
520x1 + 15lb from last week.

close grip bench press- feet up
315x3
365x3
425x2 + 10lb PR

next cycle will be with the "man"pon.

Damn man 520. That is awesome

deads- this was the last night of the deadlift cycle. hit a huge PR. we are pulling from my “dead spot” which is about 3 inches below the knee. this is the point where i transition in the dead. as a result, starting from this point and not having the momentum off the floor, i’m weak as a kitten. it wasn’t long ago that i struggled to pull 600 from this spot. tonight i pulled a very comfortable 700.

elevated deads
135x6
225x6
315x6
405x4
495x4
585x1
635x1
700x1 + 25lb PR

speed pulls
315x2x8- these felt like 135 after the elevated pulls.

curlzzzz circuit

swiss bar curlzz, incline dumbell curlzzz, reverse grip barbell curlzzz, and one arm hammer preacher curlzzzz.

some x 10 x 2

sunday will be front skwatts.

so… The meet i scheduled is cancelled. i had a difference of opinion with NOVA RAW on what RAW actually is…LOL.

I just got off the phone with Jesse Rogers, the President of SPF, and I’m going to get trained as a judge. I’m also going to talk to the Chairman of VA. and with her blessing i’m going to start throwing SPF meets up here in Northern VA. I’ll keep everyone informed as to when this will happen.

Haha, I was kind of wondering about that. The whole SPF thing sounds pretty damn awesome. There is no way the gym could handle any kind of decent sized meets though. Would probably have to rent out a place or something…

That sounds really awesome though…

Oh and by the way… awesome pull. Not nearly the hardest elevated pull I’ve seen from you, which is a great sign since it was 700.

skwatts- last day of front squats for awhile. we will start a cycle using one of the specialty bars next week.

front squat- long pause
0x10
145x6
195x4
235x4
285x3
325x1
375x1
415x1
465x1-dumped this one last week. hit it easily this week.

circuit- leg press and front squat

good lifting as always, and good work with the SPF

new bench cycle- decided to go with foam presses and end with paused floor presses. it was a good session and i can definitely feel it. was very happy with the foam press. 545 is what i ended with the last time i did these. definitely gett’n stronger.

foam press
135x6
225x6
315x4
405x4
455x1
495x1
545x1

full ROM bench, touch and go
315x1
405x1
495x1

floor press- legs out, long pause
315x4
365x4
405x4

dips
BW x 100 R/P
PeteS wrote:

thanks Pete. i think it’s going to be a great thing. hopefully i can eventually throw some pretty large meets.

That is a ton of dips, lol.

New deadlift cycle. went with reverse band deads. i was very happy with our first day. typically i’ll work up to a weight that i hit on week three of the last time i did them but i actually tied my PR on these the first day out. hopefully that means i’m gett’n stronger.

reverse band deads

335x4
425x4
515x4
605x1
695x1
785x1
805x1 - tied PR

605x6x2-double overhand
605x15- feel the burn

swiss bar curls
some x 10 x 3

preacher curls- reverse grip x 10, right into hammer curl x 10, right into regular grip x 10… x 2

I hope that 605 x 15 was with the bands?! Even if…still crazy strong MM.

Damn, it’s crazy how you can just keep pulling like that. From seeing the bar speed even before it got to your knees I wouldn’t think you could keep going, especially since it is reverse bands, and it just keeps getting heavier.

this goes back to my theory that the bands don’t resist as much as the weight gets heavier. it felt a little lighter a few inches right off the floor but then it felt like the weight didn’t change at all the rest of the way.

by the way, we get our monolift and competition bench on monday… are you jealous??
