Looks like you are hitting these weights fairly easy. Leavin lots of room for steady progression…
Dave got scared for you on that 525 but 530 looked like it went up even easier, haha.
You’re makin me feel lazy with all this conditioning… gonna have to start doin my own too.
I have been thinking of doing this ‘Couch to 5k’ in 9 weeks. http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml It starts off pretty slow but would be fun to try it, and loren said she would do it with me. Although I think I’m going to wait a few weeks, because if I start it now, in 9 weeks I’ll be running the actual 5k right when I’m supposed to be maxing with my lifting programs. Probably not a great idea. I’ll probably just stick to conditioning stuff like you’re doing and maybe very light cardio, then do that program after I finish the heavy programs I’m doing now. Man I can really start rambling once I get goin, lol.
Anyway… can’t wait to watch your meet in october. I’m just sorry I’ll miss the hotel and the night-before-the-competition rituals, lol.

nice pulling, and damn you are looking lean, only question, don’t you want all the chains to clear the floor? it’s always a challenge with the set up with enough chains vs. the floor. and this is a tip I got from the 840 puller I train with…
good input regarding the conditioning. it’s amazing, I find with some of the house work stuff I am doing right now, ripping up flooring, hauling shit around in a wheelbarrow, etc. I would be gassed if it wasn’t for my conditioning work
i find that when all the chains clear the floor they get swaying on me at the top. i have a very forceful lockout and when i do that with the chains totally off the floor the bar will sway on me and jack my lower back. also, if you notice we lay the chains out length wise forward and back. this adds a TON of friction on the chains on the first pull. i do the same on bench.
as long as it’s consistent week to week i’m happy with it.
the conditioning stuff improves quality of life regardless if you are a powerlifter or not.

true that on the consistency piece… I bounce between places just enough where little variables like chain length can throw me off
overhead press’n. my overhead strength increases seem to come in spirts. i don’t know really when or why it happens but right now they are feeling strong and am getting stronger. i’m not complaining though.
overhead press- concentrating on reps for this cycle
0x10
95x6
135x6
185x6
225x6
280x7
swiss bar overhead press
230x6-long pause at bottom
260x4
deadlift’n- this is week three with chains. things are moving along nicely. i had planned to hit a double on my top set today and actually hit a triple.
Dude that was serious…i just started training reg about 8 months ago, tried the reverse grip bench like once felt real weird on my shoulders…do you think its something I really should try to learn??? what are neone elses opinons???

I’m “lean” enough to see my toes again.
Awesome pulls (that’s always a given)!
Interested more still in the conditioning. What kind of progression are you doing from w/o to w/o, week to week? What did you do with hillsprints when they were a regular part of your routine?

i really go by feel. if i feel like pushing it, i will. if i don’t, i don’t. there really isn’t much progression. i try to keep it under 30 minutes. i keep it at a moderate speed as well. i don’t run with the prowler and don’t do hill sprints anymore. i want to keep the impact on my knees to a minimum. i like to keep it interesting as well. i try to do something different each time. don’t stress over the details. just get out there and flip some tires, push and pull the prowler and carry some farmers walks.

they are weird at first. i love them because they will balance out your shoulders nicely as well as hit the triceps hard.
i throw them in as an accessory movement quit often.

Prob a dumb question by this point, but do you recommend the Titan Ram?
it’s the only gear i’ve ever tried so i have nothing to compare it to but i like it. it’s taken some time to get used to. you have to really be patient on the decent and careful not to let the weight fly back over your face, but i’m sure that’s the case with any sort of bench aid. it doesn’t give you much other than right off the chest. but i like it to overload the triceps.
Joweeee wrote:
Damn. You just keep getting more used to the Titan it looks like and making the weight look easy. Looks like you need to try those chains with 405!! :D
i think 600 shouldn’t be too far off. i’ll take it up to 555 next week. it will also be the last week of chains so i’ll move it up to 405 with chains for doubles.
