thanks hoss. we definitely aren’t a 1% club but we are an Outlaw MC. Luckily we are friendly with all the 1% clubs in the area. We made all of the appropriate calls when we moved from a one piece patch to a three piece patch many years ago. I respect the 1% liftestyle and have many friends that are 1%ers in many clubs but it’s not for me. For me family comes first, then job then the club.
I have an 03 Road king and i love it. i’m getting ready to put a “batwing” detachable front farring on it with a CD/MP3 player in it.

Just a question if you have a mo…
Ex biker but havn’t ridden a bike in about 5 years.
Some time back i was into custom bikes and (with a lot of help) built a nice looking lowrider/chop.
Because of that i had some contact with an mc club over here for a while but i was never interested myself mainly due to being a very solo rider-anyway…question is about this 3 piece and 1 piece patch thing ? what is that ? only there often seemed to be bad feeling over here (uk) between outlaw clubs and i know of several situations where there were shootings etc.
Ex biker, havn’t ridden bikes for about 5 years now mainly because i had to learn to drive when i started running my own business where i had

it’s pretty simple. a one piece patch is a riding club. those patches are purchased, not earned. you can basically go pay your $50 or whatever and you are in that riding club. a MC is an exclusive club where you have to EARN your colors. You typically start out as a hang around and and the club decides whether or not they want you to Prospect. if they are chosen they bigin their Prospect stage. There is a whole laundry list of things that go along with that in each club. Typically if they make it through that stage they move on to the PROBATE stage. That again has a whole list of requirements. The last step is a full Patch member. Each step is represented by a patch. The Prospect stage typically is represented by the wearing of the bottom rocker representing your state. The Probate stage adds the top rocker. typically the club’s name. Lastly, once they reach full member status they get the center patch and are now a full patch member.
The whole process can take a very long time and is individual to that person. The process is meant to instill brotherhood and bring ereryone together.
MC’s can be very territorial. Some MC’s feel that they “own” their territory and any other MC’s that come through without permission as an insult. Most problems are over infringement on territory. The other big issue is disrespect.
Meat–thanks, all those years riding and it’s something i never did understand but there again i was never a prt of that world. Sorry that the post went a bit awry, just re read and realised that the post i sent wasn’t the one i intended to send, same question but i put in a lot more of my biking history in tyhe hope of not coming across as a complete dweeb.
During the time i was riding all the time (about 30 years) i did have contact with a HA member over here --we were both involved in the same legislation campaign although we never got to actually meet.
One of the weird things is that people assumed that i was a ‘hells angel type’ just because i rode a chop !!

I really don’t know what the “hell’s angel type” is but i would take that any day over the vast majority of our society going through life dead inside creeping along the highways in their cages.

That was great to watch. I love/hate front squats and do them because they’re hard. Do you think there’s much carryover to a sumo deadlift?

i do them because they carryover to my deadlift. i find that they are the most beneficial if done to a box with a long pause. for sumo i would go with a wide stance and a long pause on the box. make sure to stay tight on the box. don’t relax the hip flexors and really force the knees out on the way up.

i’ve also done something different with my diet. i’ve kinda leveled out on the weight loss and i really want to get down to 242 for the october meet. what i’m doing now is having a protein shake before each meal. what i’m finding is that i’m pretty full after the shake and not really eating a whole lot. Doing this insures that i get plenty of protein while also keeping me from overeating.
bench day- this was week one of our new bench cycle. i switched out reverse band bench for bench against chains.
warmup- bench press. full ROM
