All comes clear to me. Had lots of friends in the Outlaws back in Chicago. A few 81s around here. In fact one friend mine, who I shit you not, is the biggest bodybuilder I have ever seen – and I have met Ruhl, Art Atwood, and other of the top boys – sports the 81.
Hey, can I ask a favour? I’ve posted a deadlift video from tonight in my log and have noted a problem I’ve been having in that I lit to the left when I break my knees. I can’t figure out why. Can you take a look and see if you can tell what it could be?
I’d really appreciate your insight.

we have quit a few 1 % clubs around here as well. a buddy of mine was just killed on his bike heading to a party last weekend. he was only a few minutes ahead of me…lady turned in front of him and he t-boned her. anyway… the funeral was saturday and there had to have been 500 motorcycles there. many, many different clubs including “16” and the Warlocks.
Still one of the funniest things I have ever seen was at an Illinois meet last year. There was this fat dude, I mean fat even by PL standards, competing DL only. He had all sorts of horrible facial tattoos as well. He was sporting some colors for a MC called something like “The Devil’s Buddies” and he had a patch that said 0%er. 0%er? really, so you like don’t exist?

i’ve seen some cop clubs where 99%er patches but never 0%er. sounds like he lost a bet or something.
bench’n- i’m really liking the bench cycle. i’m doing three movements and each one picks up with a weight that i just finished on the last one. the weight keeps getting heavier on each variation.
warmup- bench press-full ROM-touch and go
0x10
135x5
225x5
315x5
405x5-these felt very light. i could have hit 10 of these. that’s a good sign.
titan bench press- full ROM- touch and go
405x3
455x1
475x1
495x1
reverse band bench press
495x2
585x1
635x1
665x1 + 10lb PR. missed this last week. it went up uneven becuase our bench is very narrow and if i’m not exactly centered i get off balance. even off balance it felt very strong. next week i’ll give 675 a ride.
close grip bench press- feet up- long pause
225x3
275x3
315x3
375x3
hammer curl on preacher curl
some x 20 x 3
seated calf raise
some x 20 x 3
skwatt’n- with the peaking cycle i’m going back to deadlifting once a week and using squats as a supplement to my deadlift. we’ll be doing front squats, cambered bar squats, zercher squats and safety bar squats. i haven’t done front squats in awhile. i worked up to 405 and it felt like 135. my best front squat is 605. i’m thinking i could hit something in the high 500’s right now. i feel pretty good about that since i haven’t done any heavy squats in over 6 months. i’ll hopefully push these up to 600 over the next four weeks.
front squat to box- long pause
0x10
135x6
225x6
315x3
365x3
405x3x2
circuit
leg press - front squat(bottom half)- seated calf raise
some x 30 x 2
felt good to do some squats again.
wow… heavy ass front squat

not heavy yet. my planned cycle is 455x3 next week, then 495x2 the following, then 545x1 on the third and then finishing with something around 600 on the fourth week.
thanks hoss.
Lookin sexy with the goatee… nice liftin… i get back Next wednesday then packin up the house… should be able to make it saturday and maybe again before i leave. Saturday might possibly be my last day in there!! Might have to say my farewells then!! Gonna hate missing the october comp… looks like you are going to hit some big numbers at it.
been slacking on my posting lately but my training is progressing nicely leading into our next meet. it was hot as hell tonight in the gym but i hit a huge PR on reverse band bench and progressed on all of my other variations tonight.
International Bench Night

0x10
135x10
185x10
225x10
275x10
315x10
365x10
405x7 + 2 reps from last week. i’ll up this to 9 next week.

405x1
455x1
475x1

Meat like your cut. Do the 1%'ers ever give you any shit for it being a 3 piece? My son is in a military riding club in GA and they got pulled over in Fla by some guys who couldn’t identify them. (Jacksonville club???) They made them take off the cuts and warned them to get a one piece just to be safe. Turned out cool because they took them to BBQ to make up for scaring the shit out of them when 30 dudes rolled up on them mean muggin.
I have a 05 Road king but I am definelty a Biker owner. She goes into the garage in bad weather and comes out in good, lol.

thanks hoss. we definitely aren’t a 1% club but we are an Outlaw MC. Luckily we are friendly with all the 1% clubs in the area. We made all of the appropriate calls when we moved from a one piece patch to a three piece patch many years ago. I respect the 1% liftestyle and have many friends that are 1%ers in many clubs but it’s not for me. For me family comes first, then job then the club.
I have an 03 Road king and i love it. i’m getting ready to put a “batwing” detachable front farring on it with a CD/MP3 player in it.
crazy reverse bands
I miss your crazy squat vids, MM.
Glad to see Viking Dave is back at it.

i’ve recently added in a squat only day again so the vids will be coming. i started a four week front squat cycle and i’m hoping to get back up to 600 by the end.
i’m glad Dave is back as well.
I still replay that 800(?) reverse band one in my head (well the idea of it, it’s fuzzy now it’s been so long… ;-)), where you did it a second time because your partner called it too high the first time. That was damn inspirational.

yeah, i remember that. those sucked. it was done in a crappy rack with a crappy bar. maybe i’ll go back to the reverse band squats after this front squat cycle.

thanks. i’ve made huge progress on these over the past few weeks. 675 was my ultimate goal and it felt very comfortable yesterday. i’ll be move’n on to bench against chains for the next cycle. hopefully it all will lead to a big bench in october.
