Yo. Sittin here at the airport. Fligt is delayed a couple hours. England was awesome and the beer is amazing. The food is amazing too i dunno why everyone says t sucks. I didnt even ever try fish but the chips were good… paid for some wifi while i wait but the IP must be blocked on the game i play to kill time. Sob. We found a couple villages we like a lot with a pub and store for a short walk.
Scott, u guys training on wednesday or thursday? I forget. Burger just came and im starving. I feel like im gettin sick, hopefully its not too bad. Cant wait to deadlift when i get back.
Scott not sure if you got my message but I don’t think I’ll be lifting tomorrow. This sickness got worse and I don’t really wanna prolong it by lifting anyway. Maybe I’ll feel better in the morning though…

If we were deadlifting I probably would. It works out nice that deadlifts aren’t til saturday. I slept all day today and already feel much better… should be tip top by sat!
I was looking at the calendar just now and was thinking of a few things. If we deadlift on sat(26th) then bench on monday28) I think I would be good to go for the competition. I was wondering if you would like to try something different this time, then just taking the week off before the competition.
That would be after we bench on monday(28th) we take off til next saturday(5th) and we do real light bench AND deadlift(maybe a lil accessory), and then do real light bench and deadlift only again on like tuesday, then rest up til the competition saturday. My thoughts were that a bit of time off then the real light bench and deadlift on the same day, then a few more days of rest, would leave us more primed but still fully rested come competition day. What do you think?
deads… this was my third time pulling conventional from the floor and i’m very happy with my progress so far. i feel that i’ll be a mid 700 puller in no time.
i had an awesome nosebleed on my last heavy pull of the day. that was just a bonus.
deficit pulls
225 + 100lbs of chain x 1
315 + 100lbs of chain x 1
405 + 100lbs of chain x 1
495 + 100lbs of chain x didn’t even give it a good pull…lower back was toasty
Wooooo. That was a hell of a hard pull. My lockout has gotten much much stronger doing all these chains I think. That was near 700 lbs at the very top where I struggled. That will be the last real heavy session before the competition. Next week I’m just going to hit a somewhat heavy weight with no chain. Seeing how fast I pulled 585 off the floor I think I’m just going to open with 600 at the competition, since that is what I missed last time. I might as well open with it since I think I will nail it, plus I don’t care to hit anything lower than that.
Thought I would mention… when I got home from deadlifting the other day loren said what the hell happened to you?! lol… I had no idea what she was talking about. She had me look in the mirror and I had little red dots all on my face and neck, and eyelids. I suppose I busted a ton of tiny blood vessels everywhere. Kinda freaky looking.

If you ever get into geared lifting, that will almost the norm. My wife now looks at me every Saturday night and asks if it was a PR or not, lol.

bench’n - came into this session tired. i’ve been basically living off of protein shakes with few carbs.
full ROM bench
warmup
0x10
135x6
225x4
275 + 50lbs chain x 1
315 + 50lbs of chain x 1
365 + 50lbs of chain x 1
425 + 100lbs of chain x 1
we will hit an opener probably on monday. can’t wait to see how the chains have helped my lockout. when we moved to the close grip bench stuff i could definitely tell my bar speed was faster and lockout was more crisp.
Not sure what happened on that 285 set but it did not go well. I missed last bench session being in England, and my diet has slipped the last week or so. Since I’m going to be in the 275 weight class going into this competition, I figure I might as well make it count and start eating a bunch the next two weeks and put on a bit of weight. My bench is always much stronger that way.
