Stats When Someone is 'Very Strong'?

Been training for 5 months .
BW: 181

I dont really care about washboard abs( atleast right now) but only want pure brute strength . At what kind of stats can I think Im doing pretty well ?
how did you get to where you are in terms of numbers and how was the progression ?

Current stats:
Squat( 242 x 4) ,DL(264 x 4) , BP(132 x 5) , Overhead press(110 x 6)

bench 500 and deadlift 700 and you can call yourself “Very strong”

Honestly, why the hell do you care? Maximize your own potential.

Ofcourse ,. I just like cold, hard numbers .

Strength sport success varies with each person. A lot of powerlifters dont give a shit about their stone lifts and log press and box jumps. Most oly lifters don’t give a shit what they bench press. I would consider 550/450/700 for natural lifters in the ~200 weight class to be very strong for a powerlifter. But I’m not a powerlifter and don’t really know what the world records are.

My long term goals as a natural, 18yr old strongman competitor:

600lb axle deadlift
300lb 12" log press
500lb squat to 3" below parallel
325lb stone lift over 50" bar
300lb farmers walk for 100ft and back
405lb bench press
4.0 40
60" box jump
750lb tire flip for 100ft

double all your current numbers, thats a start

You know that a 4.0 40 is olympics level, right? Assuming you do, more power to you and I hope you get it.

dammit, chris.

If this guy can run anything CLOSE to a 4.0 he needs to be speaking to a division 1 football coach NOW.

I like shooting for the stars and all but Chris Johnson, arguably the fastest player in the NFL, at least a few years ago, ran a 4.24 40.

Ask again once you’ve trained seriously for 5 years. Really not worth thinking about until you’ve put some serious skin in the game. Until then, just train hard and intelligently and work on being better than you were yesterday.

Lol I wasn’t even going to touch that one. Also squatting 3" below parallel is oddly specific.

your goals are big! how far have you come till now? Not much familiar with strongman so what`s a 4.0 40 stat for?

x2

What happens if you finally reach what your found someone else to consider “strong” and you are satisfied. NEVER be satisfied. Set yourself some short-term goals and keep those in mind whenever you are training. I myself am going for a 495/405/645 total right now, and I keep these in mind always (in the gym and out).

I would say someone who has records, local, state, national, world. To be honest it’s not about the numbers, I’ve always been told that if you love what you do you’ll be the best you can be at it. A 181-pound lifter can lift for 20 or so years but not total Elite or Masters, but I would still consider him strong because he’s been in the sport for so long.

I got to where I am from just doing the basic movements, progress staggers because that’s what happens. I won’t ever think I’m strong, that way when I hit a PR I know I’ll be one step closer to getting there.

When people look like they forgot how to walk when seeing how weight you’re lifting

I think I get what you’re TRYING to say…but it sounds an awful lot like justifying a guy lifting in the 181’s all his life while never even accomplishing significant strength goals. I know people who’ve been in the gym longer than me, and yet after 5ish years of serious training I’m strong than they ever were or will be. I’m not saying that to brag, my point is that sheer time spent under the bar doesn’t mean much without the achievements to back it up.
