Starwars Episode 3

Alright, I realize I’ll most likely be flamed horribly for this, but I feel it’s my duty as a fortunate fan to report. We got Star Wars Episode 3 over here in Germany a day early, saw it last night. Just like to say that in my opinion Lucas redeemed himself with a very good flic. He had a lot of story to cover in the 140 min. of runtime and he accomplished it very well. I think even non-fans would thoroughly enjoy the movie, lots of action, some comedy and of course special FX out the ass. And that bastard Jar-Jar is only in the movie for about a second and a half and doesn’t say shit!
Alright, that said, flame at will fellas!

i wont watch it till i comes out on dvd, but i know a guy who downloaded it a week ago and he said it was exactly the opposite of the first two. inasmuch as the first two were 20% action and 80% suckage, the third one is 80% action and 20% suckage.

I hear it’s good because Lucas didn’t write this one.

Quite a few people think this is why Empire Strikes Back was so good.

I just saw it and absolutely loved it, everything really came together at the end. Some people said the acting was a little weak, but I thought it was all very believable.

Right now the midnight showing is going on. I think it would have been nice to experience the event, but mostly I like to watch movies with as few people around as possible.

There are just too many annoying people. In the last 10 movies I went to, somebody was talking in at least 8 of them.

The next time somebody is right behind me talking, I am going to turn around and stare at them. Once they ask what I am doing, I will tell them their conversation is so much better then the movie I paid to see.

Anyway, instead of bitching, here is a link to a 40 minute fan movie. I don’t know if anyone has posted a link before, but if you are willing to download a 248 megabyte file, it is supposed to be great. I downloaded it, but have not watched it yet.

The budget was $20,000, the same as Clerks. Everybody who worked on it was a volunteer.

What are you guys talking about? The original idea is that he wrote all 6 as a single story. Hook me up with the info!

Cheers

It’s six in the morning here in NYC. Sitting at my desk at work after screening a 3:30 a.m. showing of Episode 3. And it was great. Filling in holes of the VADER mythology. Seeing it with the freaks and geeks was quite an experience as well. Now I just have to hope I don’t fall asleep and get fired. Going on no sleep since Tuesday night.

I just saw the film. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! See you must.

Hayden Christensen got SWOLE! Huge chest, delts, bi’s. Is it all the Light Saber training, or roids?

That is a bit confusing, sorry. Lucas came up with the entire story, characters, plots, galaxy. However he’s only done a couple of the movie screenplays himself. Some people like the ones he does whereas others like the ones that others write better.

I confess that I am Star Wars nerd, took half a day off to go see it after lunch today.

Lucas did write this one, Mr. David Barr is correct.

I read that he put on something like 25 lbs. “by working out and eating 6 meals a day.”

What I wanna know is if Portman gets nekid? ^^

No flames here either. As Xen said you’ve got me fired up to go see it!

Lucas writes them all…he didnt direct this one or ESB.

He “wrote” it, but he had a lot of help writing the dialogue from an English playwrite whose name currently escapes me. Major collaborative effort.

The ones he’s less involved in are much better. He didn’t direct RotJ either, but that one wasn’t so great. The director on that one never did action or FX before. Irvin Kershner (Director of Empire…) was great because he was mainly concerned with the characters and making them real, which I think is why Empire is pretty much everyone’s favorite.

In the others ones it seems the characters are only there to fill in the story.

Part of the reason the acting is not so great I think is he likes to keep things a secret. I remember reading for the Phantom Menace no one even got the scripts until a few weeks before shooting. That is not exactly a long time to prepare.

I was telling someone that Portman should at least appear in an iron bikini, I mean, just for consistency. This being the 3rd movie and all.

I don’t know if it will happen.
