People around me were laughing so hard they were crying. I thought it was meh. Doesn’t even make my Top 10 of Apatow movies.
I finally got around to watching Whiplash.
Good reviews, have heard good things. I thought it was awful! Maybe you had to watch it somewhere with a kick-ass sound system or something.

Saw Ant man Thursday night I give if a 7 out of 10 generally funny moments like guardians with a nice family story. Not happy pym is an old retired scientist but we did get to see a flashback of him and the wasp. A nice little addition to the marvel juggernaut film empire
Just watched Trainwreck. Theater was totally packed at 3:05 on a Sunday which surprised me. Sat between an older couple at least in their late 60s and a young couple in their 20s. Both of them laughed throughout.
I love Amy Schumer, but she may have been the least interesting person in this. Everyone else in it was so good. Lebron was great, and there was a Romo cameo.

I saw 2 Guns a couple weeks ago, it was actually really good. I was not expecting much, but I really liked it.
Wahlberg’s character was great.
I haven’t seen Trainwreck yet but in the preview I saw the John Cena part where he’s in the movies and that looked pretty good. “I look like Mark Wahlberg ate Mark Wahlberg.”

Felt stunned after seeing it. Several scenes knocked something out of me.

I watched Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer on the plane a couple of days ago and really liked it.
It was straight-forward and by the numbers, but I still liked it.

I attempted to watch this multiple times a year or two after it came out.
This was also about the same time I was in the lowest point of my life, and consuming the highest amount of drugs.
I only remember bits and pieces, but from what I do remember, I always walked away, or faded out, thinking what in the world did I just watch…
Saw Trainwreck this past weekend - I’m usually not a rom-com guy - I find them to be very formulaic and stale. While the usual tropes and formulas were detectable in this movie, the movie itself was pretty damn funny. John Cena was hilarious. The jokes were really great and the supporting cast was phenomenal (fuckin’ Colin Quinn was stupendous in it). While this isn’t a case of the whole is greater than the sum of it’s parts (due to the overall predictable formula), the individual performances were cohesive to make it worth watching and enjoying.
I’ve liked Amy Schumer for a while (I know she’s kind of blowing up, but I remember when she would make bit appearances on sketch comedy shows or stand up bits and I thought she was funny) and she really killed it. The ending felt a little rushed, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing as it was a lot of fun to watch her be a fucking mess for a good hour and a half. Bill Hader played it relatively straight.
One of the castings which I was most excited about was Mike Birbiglia! He’s been one of my favorite comedians for at least the past 7 years - I saw his Sleepwalk with Me show in NYC when he was performing - and, although he had a small part, it was awesome to see him in there. Definitely worth a full price admission.

I have heard from 3 or 4 people that it was unbelievably bad. The kind of bad that would want you to leave half way through the movie.
Been watching old comedies with my son. Used Cars with Kurt Russell Sunday night. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels last night.

Pretty bleak, but funny in places. If you liked The Guard, In Bruges, etc, you’d probably like it.
